Dier slams top bosses for lack of “care for player welfare” over fixture chaos

Eric Dier has slammed football bosses for showing a lack of “care for player welfare” and Harry Kane could be the biggest victim.
England captain Kane will be forced to play in Tottenham’s Europa League trip to Bulgaria and all the games in their daunting fixture list as they face three games in six days.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho said he will leave EIGHT players back in London but says there is no chance of resting Kane and that only backed up Dier’s stinging rebuke for the fixture chaos.
Dier said: “In terms of our schedule, from a welfare point of view, I think there’s obviously no care for the players’ welfare, from that point of view.

“If you look at that schedule, that schedule isn’t showing any care for players’ physical welfare. I think it’s common sense really.
“To try and ask someone to play Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, it doesn’t seem like there is any care for players’ welfare in that situation. I don’t know how we’re going to fare with it.”
Mourinho admitted that the lack of back-up for Kane remains an issue even though the Tottenham striker does want to play in every game as Spurs go to Bulgaria on Thursday, travel to Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday and then play Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup next Tuesday.

Mourinho added: “He cannot play every match for 90 minutes. That’s for sure. I know that he would like to do that, because that’s his nature and he’s the kind of guy who is happy to be on the pitch for 90 minutes, but it’s not possible.
“This situation is an extreme situation for us. Hopefully we have this problem but we need to win in Plovdiv and in Leyton, but hopefully we have this problem and no player can play 90 minutes of every game.”
