Man United rule out transfer for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele

[ad_1]

Manchester United have ruled out a move for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, according to club sources.

United, who are looking to bring in an attacker before the window closes, have been linked with a move for £100million-rated Dembele, who can play on either flank.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considered Dembele when it looked as though newly-appointed Barca boss Ronald Koeman was ready to sell the France star to raise funds.

But with Luis Suarez set to leave the Nou Camp, Barca are not prepared to let Dembele go, leaving United to look elsewhere.

United have still not given up hope of signing Jadon Sancho, their No.1 summer target, despite Borussia Dortmund’s insistence the right-winger is going nowhere this summer.

Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl reaffirmed the club’s position that the England international will not leaving this month.

He told  Sport 1: “We agreed that we had to show a certain attitude. And €80m are simply not enough for such a player. We owed that to the club and the fans. I don’t want to give him up either.

“Without Jadon this team is worse.”

Kehl also told Ruhr Nachrichten: “Jadon has trained well and professionally. He is happy to play football. Yes, someday he might leave for a new challenge but right now he is happy at Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Dortmund is happy to have him.

“He is here – and he will stay here. It was an important statement from the club because we have a certain responsibility. Without Jadon, this team is worse.”
