Bank workers will be on strike on 31 January and 1 February, banks will be closed for 3 consecutive days due to Sunday on 2 February
Most of the bank workers across the country will go on strike on 31 January and 1 February with their demands. Earlier, on January 8, along with Bharat Bandh, about 6 bank unions went on strike, most of the banks were closed on that day and those which were open also affected the functioning. If you also have any work related to the bank, then settle it before 31 January.
Closure of banks for 3 consecutive days will increase problems
January 31, 2020 is a Friday. February 1, 2020 is Saturday and February 2 is Sunday. Therefore, if the banks are closed for three consecutive days, the functioning of the branch will be severely affected. Cash shortage can also increase in ATMs. However, net banking is likely to function normally during the strike.
Bank unions say that if there is no decision on their demand by March, the bank will go on an indefinite strike from April 1 with the employee. Earlier, the unions have also decided to go on strike for three consecutive days on 11, 12 and 13 March. In such a situation, before the strike, the customer should do their necessary work related to the bank.
These are the demands of bank unions
- The salary should be increased by at least 20 percent.
- Banks should work only 5 days a week.
- Special allowances merge with Basic Pay.
- NPS should be abolished.
- Improvement in pension to the family.
- Distribution of Staff Welfare Fund on the basis of operating profit.
- Exit income tax benefits on retirement.
- Equal pay for contracts and business correspondents.
