President-elect Joe Biden proposed an additional $ 400 for unemployment benefits as part of the new economic stimulus to mitigate the coronavirus pandemic.
The amount increases the additional money by $ 100 that is delivered weekly to the unemployed and that was extended in December.
The Cares Act, one of the first stimuli for the pandemic, came to provide an additional $ 600 for unemployment benefits.
New stimulus check
Biden’s proposed new stimulus plan has a total value of $ 1.9 trillion. It will be put into consideration by Congress to allocate additional millionaire resources for vaccination and covid-19 testing.
The plan includes a round of direct payments of $ 1,400 to taxpayers. These add to the $ 600 in December for a total of $ 2,000, which was what Democrats asked for months.
