Exclusive: 450 railway coaches parked together for the first time in 100 years

Indian Railways has always been known to work 24 hours and 365 days, but now it has come to a standstill. Never in history has all the 450 coaches gathered at the same time and in one place in the Howrah coaching yard.

This is the first time in the last hundred years that the Indian Railways has stopped its operations. Therefore, the number of coaches present in the coach yards with the railways was never before.

More than 600 coaches are standing on about 40 tracks of Tikiapara coaching yard in Howrah railway division of Eastern Railway. This is similar to what we sometimes see in a cinema scene. This division has an area of more than 400 km and there are many such important junctions in Burdwan, Bihar and parts of Jharkhand. Trains running from this area are maintained at Howrah Coaching Yard.

This is probably the first time that out of about 1200 employees in this yard, only about 50 employees are reported to be working. They have also been deployed because they have been given responsibilities by the Railways to make isolation coaches.

Indian Railways has always been known to work 24 hours and 365 days, but now it has come to a standstill. Never in history has all the 450 coaches gathered at the same time and in one place in the Howrah coaching yard.

There are more than 100 tracks, where various trains with more than 450 coaches and engines are parked here together. You can see Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Purva, Yuva Express and many other important trains in the parking lot here. There are about 40 tracks in the entire spread of this yard. It never happened that all the trains were parked together in the entire spread of the yard here.

AK Roy, officer (SSE) of Tikipara Coaching Yard said, “In my 33 years of service, I have never seen a situation like this that we have about 1200 employees, out of which 52-55 people only to produce isolation coaches. Most of the employees are coming here and at home. Currently the biggest problem is that we cannot come here every day. “
