Fired Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz spotted watching sunrise on Manhattan Beach

Disgraced Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz was spotted spending some time alone in Southern California ahead of the weekend, weeks after spending the holidays away from his family in rehab.

The 42-year-old ousted megachurch leader appeared to be taking time to reflect early Friday morning as he watched the sunrise from a bench at Manhattan Beach pier all by himself.

Lentz, who rose to fame as a celebrity pastor with close ties to Justin Bieber, looked downcast and pensive as he sat and gazed out at the ocean. Sporting a leather jacket over a black hoodie and shorts, he was almost unrecognizable due to his scruffy, unkempt beard.

At one point, he took out a pen and notepad and scribbled down some notes. He also brought along his laptop which he checked a few times before heading back to his $18,000-a-month rental home where he relocated after he was fired from his church in New York.

Lentz politely spoke to photographers as he walked back to his car before his ride home. He refused to comment on friend Justin Bieber becoming a pastor, saying: ‘I have nothing to say, my man. Sorry.’

When complimented on his new look and growing beard he replied: ‘Thanks, It’s got some grey in it.’

Earlier this week Lentz was spotted cozying up to his Australian wife Laura while running errands in Los Angeles.

He looked a little worse for wear again with his hair grown out as he headed out to Target in Redondo Beach on Sunday.

Laura, whom he married in 2003 and with whom he shares three kids, was seen wearing her wedding band on her finger and her arm around Carl’s for the outing.

The couple has put on a united front since Carl, who worked with Hillsong for 10 years and was the head pastor of its New York City chapter, was fired in November for having an affair and he admitted to cheating on his wife.

It comes after Lentz entered a treatment program in early December to treat mental health issues following his firing, at an outpatient facility that specialized in ‘depression, anxiety and pastoral burnout,’ according to People Magazine.

Friday's outing comes just weeks after Lentz completed a 30-day stint in rehab for mental health issues, following his termination from the megachurch

Though he never spoke out on his affair, New York City designer Ranin Karim (right) 34, went public days after the scandal broke claiming she ended their months-long secret relationship

‘He wants to be better for his family and is dedicated to doing the work,’ a source said to the magazine at the time. ‘His family is supporting him and hopes their privacy will be respected on this journey.’

They added: ‘He has no ill will towards the church and recognizes that they needed to take some course of action to address his missteps.’

During his 10 years with Hillsong, Lentz adopted a hip manner of dress and fostered friendships with young celebrities to help boost the church’s image, even as he publicly said that homosexuality and abortion were sins.

But a statement from Hillsong founder Brian Houston on November 4 announced he had been removed form his post over ‘ongoing discussions in relation to leadership issues and breaches of trust, plus a recent revelation of moral failures.’

‘They have a heart for people and we are confident that after a time of rest and restoration, God will use Carl in another way outside of Hillsong church,’ the statement continued. ‘In terminating his tenure, we in no way want to diminish the good work he did here.’

Lentz was the pastor of Hillsong’s New York branch, though he appears to spend plenty of time on the West Coast as well.

The scandal appears to have impacted his relationship with Bieber and his wife Hailey, as both unfollowed him on Instagram after having spent extensive time with him.

Last year, Lentz baptized Bieber and even presided over his wedding.

In December, DailyMail.com exclusively reported on audio of Houston addressing church leaders and top donors in which he claimed Lentz had ‘more than one affair’ leading up to his firing.

He called them ‘significant’ and added that some ‘bad moral behavior had gone back historically,’ though he wasn’t referring to these recent affairs, which were apparently consensual.

Shortly after the scandal broke, New York City–based designer Ranin Karim claimed that she had carried on a months-long affair with him.

The Egyptian and Palestinian designer says the relationship began after a chance meeting in New York’s Domino Park. Karim said the pair had begun their ‘love story’ against the backdrop of Covid-19 and found comfort in each other during the strange time.

The 34-year-old claimed Lentz would ‘brag about his BMW’ and talk about his friendship with pop star Justin Bieber.

Lentz had baptised Bieber at the church and also brushed shoulders with other celebrities along the likes of Drake, Vanessa Hudgens, and various NBA stars.

According to her, Lentz only ever gave his first name and claimed to be a sports agent.

When Karim found out Lentz was married, she claims she told him to end their fling.

‘When I found out he was married, I told him repeatedly ‘go back to your wife, go back to your family,’ but he kept turning up in the lobby of my apartment block with bottles of Clase Azul tequila for us to drink,’ she claimed.

‘He said he felt bad for what he was doing to his wife, that she was an amazing, good woman, that he had never done it before but his marriage wasn’t perfect.’

Karim believes Lentz was looking for a way out of his ‘boring’ marriage.

Lentz’s wife, Laura, uncovered the affair because Lentz had synced his iPhone messages to his iCloud. She discovered messages from Karim to him on his work computer while in the Hillsong offices, surrounded by co-workers.

Despite the alleged affairs, Lentz’s wife Laura appears to be sticking with him, and his family is reportedly supportive.

Vanessa Bryant reveals struggle with grief before Kobe Bryant anniversary

Vanessa Bryant is opening up about her struggle with grief, just a week ahead of the anniversary of losing her late husband Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna Bryant, who both tragically died in a helicopter crash last year on January 26 in California.

‘Let me be real – Grief is a messed up cluster of emotions,’ Vanessa, 38, wrote in an Instagram Story on Friday. ‘One day you’re in the moment laughing and the next day you don’t feel like being alive.’

She continued: ‘I want to say this for people struggling with grief and heartbreaking loss. Find your reason to live. I know it’s hard. I look at my daughters and I try to push through that feeling for them. Death is guaranteed but living the rest of the day isn’t. Find your reason.’

‘Find your reason to live’: Vanessa Bryant reveals struggle with grief ahead of anniversary of late husband Kobe Bryant and daughter Gigi’s tragic death

The post comes after Vanessa spent her first Christmas since the passing of her husband daughter, and posted a touching message on Instagram, writing: ‘Always Together, Never Apart Together Forever In Our Hearts.’

The black-and-white family portrait also includes daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka and one-year-old Capri, posing beside Christmas trees.

The pair were both active on social media before his passing, and the basketball star called Vanessa his ‘Queen’ and their daughters ‘princesses’ in a touching post on Instagram to mark 20 years since they first met when she was at high school – just weeks before his death.

He wrote: ‘On this day 20 years ago I met my best friend, my Queen @vanessabryant I decided to take her on a date to Disneyland tonight to celebrate old school style (pre 4princesses).

‘I love you my mamacita per sempre.’

Kobe adored his family and in a previous post after he retired in 2016 he wrote: ‘I’m so excited to see what God has in store for us as a family now that one chapter is closing and new ones are opening.’

He met Vanessa in 1999 when she 17 and was working as a background model on a music video and they got engaged six months later and they got married in 2001.

Kobe was 21 and had played three seasons in the NBA.

There was a huge media frenzy around their relationship in the early days with a television helicopter once flying over Vanessa’s high school campus trying to picture them together.

The intense attention over their relationship forced her to miss her high school prom.

Kobe’s family is said to have refused to attend their low-key wedding because they were reportedly concerned that he was too young to wed and were worried there was no pre-nup agreement.

In 2003, the year their daughter Natalia was born, Kobe was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old in a hotel in Colorado. Rape charges were later dropped after he claimed it was consensual and Vanessa appeared alongside him at a press conference where he admitted cheating on her.

The tearful star told his wife: ‘You’re my backbone. You’re a blessing. You’re a piece of my heart. You’re the air I breathe.’

He added: ‘And you’re the strongest person I know, and I’m so sorry for having to put you through this and having to put our family through this.’

The accuser later dropped all charges.

The couple faced heartache in 2005 when Vanessa suffered a miscarriage due to an ectopic pregnancy. He later blamed himself for the stress he had put her through.

Speaking in the Showtime documentary, Kobe Bryant’s Muse he said: ‘We should be building our family. But because of my mistake, because of this tough year, we lost a baby.’

The couple had their second daughter Gianna in 2006.

But in 2011 their relationship was on the rocks again and Vanessa filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and was set to get half of Kobe’s $150million fortune in the settlement.

However, two years later they said the divorce was off and in 2016 they had their third daughter Bianca.

Kobe and Gianna, a keen basketball player herself, had been on their way to the Mamba Academy for basketball practice when the chopper crashed at around 10am.

The seven other people on board were also killed.

The pilot – named locally as Ara Zobayan – was trying to turn the aircraft when it smashed into hills of Las Virgenes Canyon, which is home to celebrities including the Kardashians.

Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife Kerry, and their daughter Alyssa were also among the dead.

Bruce Willis releases a statement after REFUSING to wear a face mask: ‘It was an error in judgment’

Bruce Willis is speaking out after being pictured entering a Southern California place of business without a face mask on Monday.

The Die Hard star, 65, released a brief statement to People on Tuesday, in which he said the move ‘was an error in judgment.’

Missing a mask: Bruce Willis is speaking out after being pictured at a Southern California place of business without a face mask on Monday

Despite California government issuing strict rules that have been in place for months, the Hollywood actor had been pictured shopping inside a Los Angeles pharmacy store without wearing a face mask.

It was reported that Willis even refused to cover up when entering the RiteAid store in LA, even though he was seen to be wearing a scarf around his neck that easily could have been pulled up over his mouth and nose.

A representative for the actor did not immediately respond DailyMail.com’s request for comment at the time, though pictures clearly show him flouting the strict government guidelines as he walked around and while leaving the retail outlet.

A report by PageSix claims that fellow shoppers became upset when the Fifth Element star was seen without a facial covering, and he ended up exiting the shop without making his purchase.

Masks are required in all indoor spaces in California, while people can choose to not wear them outside as long as they are at least six feet apart from others.

The sighting comes after the California coronavirus death toll has now topped 30,000, with Los Angeles becoming the epicenter of the worst-hit places by the pandemic.

Ten people are testing positive every minute, and residents have even been advised to wear masks inside their homes, let alone when they are out shopping and mixing with other people.

Meanwhile, Willis has made no secret of the fact that he has been quarantining in large groups, and recently shared a rare photo alongside his wife Emma, 42, and their two daughters Evelyn, aged six, and Mabel, eight, from over Christmas.

Twitter stock falls 10% as it fears MAGA attacks after Trump ban

Twitter was on Monday bracing for pro-Trump protesters outside its San Francisco headquarters after banning the president from the platform.

The tech giant permanently suspended Trump Friday, citing a ‘risk of further incitement of violence’ in the wake of the storming of the U.S. Capitol by his supporters.

That saw shares drop 10 per cent shortly after opening bell on Monday.

Police told The San Francisco Chronicle they are aware of a possible protest and have been in contact with the social media giant. One police car was stationed outside the building Sunday and barriers were erected, NBC reports.

There has been no official demonstration planned but talk online suggests Trump fans may decided to gather their to protest the decision.

One post on Saturday suggested those in attendance should bring ‘big’ zip ties to ‘citizen arrest violent agitators.’ Another is said to have told demonstrators to cover their faces with masks and hats.

Twitter employees have not been in the office since March last year at the start of the coronavirus outbreak. Its CEO Jack Dorsey reportedly made the extraordinary call to permanently suspend Trump’s account amid mounting pressure from workers while he was vacationing in French Polynesia.

The fallout of Twitter’s permanent ban on Trump continued over the weekend, as his eldest son lashed out at the social media site and loyalists fled to alternatives such as Gab and Parler.

‘The world is laughing at America & Mao, Lenin, & Stalin are smiling. Big tech is able to censor the President? Free speech is dead & controlled by leftist overlords,’ Don Trump Jr said in a tweet on Saturday, urging followers to join his mailing list, ‘In case I’m next.’

On Friday, Twitter also permanently banned two Trump loyalists — former national security adviser Michael Flynn and attorney Sidney Powell — as part of a broader purge of accounts promoting the QAnon conspiracy theory.

San Francisco officer Adam Lobsinger said in a statement: ‘SFPD has been in contact with representatives from Twitter. We will have sufficient resources available to respond to any demonstrations as well as calls for service citywide.

‘The San Francisco Police Department is committed to facilitating the public’s right to First Amendment expressions of free speech. We ask that everyone exercising their First Amendment rights be considerate, respectful, and mindful of the safety of others.’

John Dennis, San Francisco Republican Party chairman, said: ‘When the company has an unequal application of the terms of service, you’re going to get a response.

Twitter said in a statement: ‘While we respect people’s right to express their views, we’ve been transparent about the factors leading up to our decision last week.

‘We have nothing to add but wanted to confirm that we continue to have mandatory work from home guidance for Twitter employees.’

Facebook on Thursday suspended Trump’s account through January 20, the day of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, and possibly indefinitely.

Fuelling frustrations right-wing social media site Parler also disappeared from the web and vanished from the Apple and Google app stores Monday after tech giants cut ties with the platform.

Parler went offline shortly after 3am EST after Amazon booted the platform off its web hosting service, effectively shutting it down until it can find a new hosting partner.

Hailed by Trump supporters as a conservative-friendly alternative to Twitter, the site is seen as a magnet for the far right and was accused by Apple, Google and Amazon of continuing to allow messages inciting violence after Wednesday’s riot.

Parler, which some of the rioters had used to help plan the insurrection, was the most-downloaded app in the Apple store on Friday before both Apple and Google cut off its access to their app stores.

CEO John Matze warned in his final post before the 3am deadline that ‘we will likely be down longer than expected’ as tech firms distance themselves from the ‘free speech’ site.

On Friday, Twitter also permanently banned two Trump loyalists — former national security adviser Michael Flynn and attorney Sidney Powell — as part of a broader purge of accounts promoting the QAnon conspiracy theory. Republican congressman Devin Nunes, who had an account on Parler, raged at what he said was ‘political censorship’ after Apple and Google removed the app.

‘Spread the word so your fellow Americans know about this,’ he urged his three million followers on the site.

Right-wing pundit Ben Shapiro warned on Twitter that ‘the tech bros are making a horrible and dangerous moment significantly more horrible and dangerous’.

‘There are no consistent standards being applied. There is reactionary deplatforming in the name of one side,’ he claimed.

‘Everyone on the right is correctly concerned that these same companies are five minutes away from simply removing the ability of conservatives to host content anywhere.’

The social media crackdown has revived a debate over whether tech giants should be treated as ‘publishers’ with the same liability as news providers.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted an image of an analytical tool showing key elected Democrats gaining tens of thousands of followers on Twitter, while key Republicans were losing them at the same rate.

‘This is how you create an echo chamber…’ Pompeo wrote.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday the House will proceed with legislation to impeach Trump as she pushes the vice president and the Cabinet to invoke constitutional authority to force him out.

Trump, holed up at the White House, was increasingly isolated after a mob rioted in the Capitol in support of his false claims of election fraud.

After his personal account was banned on Friday, Trump took to the @POTUS account and floated the idea that he might build his own ‘platform.’

A mob of Trump supporters overpowered police, broke through security lines and windows and rampaged through the Capitol on Wednesday, forcing lawmakers to scatter as they were finalizing Biden’s victory over Trump in the Electoral College.

Banning Trump, Twitter said in a statement: ‘In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action.

‘Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open.

‘However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules entirely and cannot use Twitter to incite violence, among other things.’

Ponsetto, 22, was escorted to New York Police Station # 1 in Lower Manhattan this morning. “He had his leather jacket covering his hands, which were handcuffeds to the front ”, he described New York Post.

Was charged with attempted robbery, grand theft, attempted assault, and acting in a manner detrimental to a minor old numbered Pix11.

The NYPD sent detectives to question her in California after days of intense media coverage of the December 26 hotel fight and the demands from the teenager’s family and politicians that the woman face criminal charges.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office in California, deputies tried to arrest Ponsetto on Thursday as he was driving near her Simi Valley home, but she did not stop until they reached her residence, where He refused to get out of the car. SoHo Karen’s lawyer very concerned about her mental health, is clearly not well and needs help

‘Soho Karen’ Miya Ponsetto has returned to New York City following her extradition from California where she had been held behind bars.

The 22-year-old was taken into custody at New York’s First Precinct Saturday morning to face charges over her attack on a black teenager.

Prosecutors in New York plan to charge Ponsetto with four felonies of attempted robbery, endangering the welfare of a child, attempted grand larceny, and attempted assault.

She was arrested on a New York warrant Thursday afternoon following a brief car chase in her home state of California.

Ponsetto had appeared in Ventura County court, California, via Zoom just after 2pm Friday for a hearing where she agreed to extradition.

Her lawyer, Sharen H. Ghatan, has said her client’s mental health is particularly fragile at the present time.

The lawyer for Miya Ponsetto, known as ‘Soho Karen’, pictured with her, above, has said she is concerned for her client’s mental health having given a rambling television interview hours before she was arrested

‘I’m very concerned about her mental health and wellbeing because for her to start an interview with such a defiant tone, disregarding everything she’s saying, including myself, and I’m here for her best interest, concerned me greatly,’ Ghatan said.

‘She’s just not well. I am not a psychiatrist… She’s not well, that is all I can say. She needs help, and it is not the type of help I can give.’

Ghatan added that Ponsetto was the most challenging client she has had to deal with in a long time.

‘Out of a hundred clients, you might get one that doesn’t listen, the other 99 want to listen. She happens to be the one.

‘I am uncertain as to how I’m going to proceed,’ Ghatan revealed. ‘I’m uncertain if I can proceed forward with a client who is unwilling and unaccepting of the legal advice I’m giving her.’

Ponsetto was filmed tackling 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr – the son of Grammy-winning jazz musician Keyon Harrold – to the ground at the Arlo Hotel in Manhattan back on December 26 after falsely accusing him of stealing her iPhone.

Hours before her arrest on Thursday she had given a rambling interview with CBS This Morning’s Gayle King where she denied racism was a factor in the December attack and refused to admit she physically assaulted the teenage boy.

In her interview, Ponsetto apologized for making the teen feel ‘inferior’.

She admitted she could have handled the situation differently but stopped short of acknowledging she attacked the teen, despite footage to the contrary.

Ponsetto also apologized for hurting the boy’s feelings but then suddenly snapped back at King telling her ‘Alright Gayle, enough’ as she was pressed on the incident and told that she was ‘old enough to know better’.

‘I don’t feel like this one mistake does define me.’ ‘I consider myself to be super sweet,’ she stated. ‘I’m a 22-year-old girl… how is one girl accusing a guy about a phone a crime?’

Ponsetto revealed how she did not stop everyone in the hotel lobby when she believed her phone had been stolen.

‘I was approaching the people that had been exiting the hotel – because in my mind, anybody exiting might be the one trying to steal my phone,’ she said.

When asked about her physically attacking the teen, Ponsetto repeated previous claims that the boy’s father actually attacked her.

‘The footage shows me attacking his son, attacking him how? Yelling at him, yes. OK, I apologize. Can we move on?’ she said.

Lawyer, Ghatan, also told Ponsetto not to wear the black baseball cap emblazoned with the word ‘Daddy’ on it.

‘The hat definitely wasn’t chosen by me,’ Ghatan said to The Daily Beast who also revealed that she decided to cancel other planned interviews after realizing what a train wreck the CBS one had been.

‘My office gave her advice on what to wear. We asked her to wear professional attire. When she came to the interview, I told her the baseball hat wouldn’t be something we could use in the interview. One because of the lighting, two because of the logo. She was very defiant and insistent that she wear it. I specifically asked her to remove it before the interview. She said it’s her story, it’s her hat, and she wants to wear it. She’s a very challenging client.’

Speaking about the interview, Ghatan revealed that she tried to reign Ponsetto in.

‘I interrupted Miya several times, and I intervened several times. I made statements and tried my best, but she would cut me off and stop. It put me at a disadvantage to help her.’

The woman known as 'Soho Karen' will be extradited to New York City to face four charges over the incident where she was caught on video tackling a black teen to the ground of a Manhattan hotel and falsely accusing him of stealing her phone

Ponsetto spoke only once during Friday's hearing, answering 'yes' when asked by Judge David M. Hirsch if she understood and agreed to her extradition

On Friday afternoon, Ponsetto appeared during a court hearing by video. She spoke only once answering ‘yes’ when asked by Judge David M. Hirsch if she understood why she was there and then agreed to her extradition.

Tuttle, the Los Angeles public defender representing Ponsetto after she parted ways with her initial attorney in recent days, agreed that the woman had ‘no objection’ to the extradition.

‘I did speak with Ms. Posetto prior to court, and that is correct, she has signed the waiver and she has no objection to being transported to New York,’ Tuttle said.

Her attorney did not request for her to be released on bail.

Hirsch said charges against Ponsetto in Ventura County will be heard in a court hearing later in April 6 2021.

It was not clear what those charges would be. However they may relate to the police chase that led to her arrest as well as possible violations of probation orders on her current rap sheet.

The Harrold family have claimed the incident was racially motivated but Ponsetto has denied this.

Ponsetto was taken into custody on a New York warrant on Thursday after a brief car chase with police in Ventura County, California.

The New York Police Department had flown detectives out to California a day earlier with a warrant for Ponsetto’s arrest over the violent incident at the Arlo Hotel in Manhattan.

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ponsetto after spotting her driving near her home in Piru, northwest of Los Angeles.

Authorities said she drove two blocks before finally stopping her vehicle but then refused to get out of the car.

‘She tried to slam the door on one of the deputies and that’s when they just reached in and forcibly removed her,’ Ventura County Sheriff’s spokesman Eric Buschow said.

Senior Det. Dominguez with the Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit said he had read Ponsetto her rights when he arrested her and that she had signed a waiver agreeing to her extradition, according to New York Daily News

The sheriff’s office are now asking county prosecutors in California to also charge her with resisting arrest.

Her arrest came after days of intense media coverage of the fracas at the hotel and demands by the teen’s family and activists that Ponsetto face criminal charges.

In a video recorded by the teen’s father, Ponsetto was seen pushing and grabbing both father and son.

She was recorded demanding the teenager’s phone, claiming he had stolen it from her.

Harrold Sr can be heard in the recording telling Ponsetto to leave his son alone.

Security video later released by the NYPD shows Ponsetto frantically grabbing at the teen as he tried to get away from her through the hotel’s front door. She’s seen clutching him from behind before both tumble to the ground.

Moments after the scuffle ended, her missing phone was found in an Uber and returned to her by the driver, Harrold Sr has said.

NYPD detectives flew to California to help locate her after Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance signed off on charges of attempted robbery and felony fugitive from justice.

The altercation drew comparisons to cases like that of Amy Cooper, a white woman who was charged with filing a false report for calling 911 and saying she was being threatened by ‘an African American man’ during a dispute in New York’s Central Park in May.

His parents have said her arrest is ‘a start’.

‘I pray for her. In the context of all the excuses her attorney made, at this point it’s not even about an apology any more,’ the teen’s father told ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday.

The teen has been in music therapy ever since the incident, his family say.

Ponsetto’s lawyer, Sharen Ghatan, told The Associated Press in an interview before the arrest that her client is ’emotionally unwell’ and remorseful for the ordeal.

Ghatan said she spoke to her client earlier on Thursday and that ‘she strikes me as someone who’s unwell.’

She said Ponsetto ‘lashed out’ over worry about her phone disappearing and that it wasn’t racially motivated.

It ‘could have been anyone,’ she said.

On Wednesday, Ghatan had claimed that Ponsetto was having an anxiety attack during the hotel incident and insisted that it was not racially motivated.

‘Miya is young, She let her emotions get the best of her. That phone could have been in the hand of 90-year-old grandma, an Asian person.. someone black or blue. It wasn’t a race related issue. Things took a life of their own,’ Ghatan told NBC.

The lawyer explained that Ponsetto, who is from California, had been traveling alone while visiting her father in New York City for Christmas.

She had been relying on her phone to help her navigate the city and became nervous and ‘triggered’ after realizing she had lost it.

‘She was a scared girl alone in a city she doesn’t know and lost her one point of contact for her numbers. She lost her mind for a hot minute. She is sorry,’ Ghatan said.

She said Ponsetto has since acknowledged that she lost her temper and acted inappropriately and ‘wouldn’t do it again’. She now wants to ‘give peace to the family’ and apologize.

Ghatan said she and Ponsetto have contacted attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the Harrold family, in hopes of arranging a meeting but have yet to hear back.

‘It’s horrible, what happened. She certainly should not have done that. She has some things she has to work through with herself, control issues, anger management issues. Of course she knows that,’ Ghatan said.

‘She wants to clarify and give peace to the family. She’s mixed race. She specifically said it’s not about race. The way she talks, it’s not even an issue. It was the phone.’

The lawyer denied accusations that Ponsetto was a ‘lady of privilege’, adding that she is of Puerto Rican descent who works ‘9-5 at a typical place’.

Ponsetto plans to address the controversy publicly when the time is right, but is ‘fragile’ at the moment.

Ponsetto’s mother and her attorney have expressed concern over her well-being, telling TMZ she has gone off the grid and has not been responding to messages.

They told the tabloid she has received threats and even visits to her home from strangers.

Thursday’s arrest isn’t the first time Ponsetto has had a brush with law enforcement.

Court records obtained by TMZ showed Ponsetto was arrested twice for driving under the influence of alcohol last year – once in May and again in October.

Those incidents followed a separate arrest back in February when she and her mother were charged for drunkenly refusing to leave a hotel in Los Angeles.
