Argos PS5 restock update as PlayStations reportedly arrive at warehouses

PlayStation fans still waiting to get their hands on the latest console should keep their eyes on Argos, according to reports online.

If they can be believed, the next-gen consoles are already in warehouses, waiting for deployment to stores and online.

That’s according to the @UKPS5Notify twitter account, which wrote last night: “I know from the logistics team that Argos currently has stock, just waiting for processing.”

Argo’s website still reads: “PlayStation 5 is currently unavailable. We’re working hard to make this available as soon as possible.”

But once released, their could be a massive surge in demand.

Earlier this week thousands of gamers queued to get on Curry’s website as the retail giant put Playstation 5 consoles back on sale.

The huge demand caused technical issues and large queues with as many as 150,000 people waiting to get access to the site. Currys is now completely sold out of the PS5s.

The console also crashed the websites of GAME, Tesco and John Lewis when it first launched in November.

The PS5 is expected to be back in stock at Argos again soon

Sony launched two versions of the PlayStation 5 in the UK and Europe on November 19, following the consoles’ release in the US a week earlier.

The full PS5 costs £449, while a Digital Edition without a disc tray is priced at £359.

Sony has been working hard to get more consoles on the shelves after gamers cleared out stock globally after the launch.

Sony boss Jim Ryan said “absolutely everything” was sold when speaking in December.

Talking to TASS News Agency, he said: “Everything is sold. Absolutely everything is sold.

“I’ve spent much of the last year trying to be sure that we can generate enough demand for the product.

“And now in terms of my executive bandwidth I’m spending a lot more time on trying to increase supply to meet that demand.”

Arrive at school wearing the mask from the day before

However, logistics often fall to management. Instructions may therefore vary.

In some places, students are given a pack of masks for the whole week.

Elsewhere, distribution is done every day, either in the morning or at noon.

In other places, students are asked not to throw away the mask they wore in the afternoon so that they can put it back when they board the bus the next day while waiting to receive one. new.

“We suggest keeping the afternoon mask in a safe manner after each day, in order to wear it the next morning, when going to school,” says one in a note. sent to parents at a school in the west of the metropolis.

However, students must “wear a clean procedural mask when they start their day,” says Annie Bourassa of the Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Service Center. She specifies that each school administration is responsible for logistics.

Even on the bus

“We will leave the schools to say at what precise moment to change their mask, but the idea is to cut the day in two”, explained the Minister of Education Jean-François Roberge on QUB Radio on Tuesday. .

“Even on the bus, on the way to school, you have to wear the procedural mask. […] It can be the brand new one that you unpack at home in the morning, or the one received Tuesday at the end of the day and that you have worn very little time, “said Mr. Roberge.

No more premiums for surgeons to arrive on time

The $ 110 bonus paid to surgeons who show up for surgery before 8 a.m. will soon be a thing of the past.

From next Monday, the “attendance bonus” will no longer be able to be billed by specialists, as has been the case since 2011.

“At the time, it often happened that surgeons arrived at nine o’clock and it delayed the operating room,” said the director general of the Institute for the relevance of medical acts (IPAM), Jean-François Foisy.

This amount was negotiated by the former president of the Federation of Medical Specialists, Gaétan Barrette and the former Minister of Health, Yves Bolduc.

Anesthesiologists too

In 2018, our Bureau of Investigation revealed that the RAMQ had paid $ 41 million over three years for this bonus. Several nurses and even medical specialists were outraged.

The sum is paid to the surgeon if the anesthesiologist takes care of the patient before eight in the morning.

They are also entitled to an attendance bonus which will be abolished.

The only exception is that surgeons can continue to bill $ 22.15 per 15 minutes for procedures between 5 and 7 p.m. Previously, they could invoice as early as 3 p.m.

This is in addition to the amount billed for the surgery itself.

The end of the attendance bonus is one of the first measures taken by the Institut de la relevance created following the compensation agreement between Quebec and the FMSQ in 2019.

The money saved will have to be used in particular to improve access to specialized medicine.

Sinusitis

In addition to the repeal of the attendance bonus, another measure will come into force on Monday.

It will no longer be possible to bill for x-rays for patients suspected of having sinusitis.

“This type of exam will no longer exist. We want to eliminate exams with low added value, ”says Jean-François Foisy.

By 2023, the Institute should have identified $ 240 million in “relevance” in the billing of medical specialists.

January 15 is the deadline established by Congress – in the stimulus package bill that was approved in December – to deliver the second stimulus checks. In other words, after this Friday, the IRS and the United States Treasury will no longer be able to send the second stimulus checks, either by direct deposit or by mail.

Anyone who does not send the second stimulus check by this date will need to claim the money as a Refund Recovery Credit when filing your taxes this year, as reported by CNET.

This means that probably it will be months before you can see your second stimulus check if you haven’t received it by this FridaySince the sending of your money depends on the date you send your return and how quickly the IRS will process your tax return.

Wi-Fi’s biggest upgrade in decades is starting to arrive

Wi-Fi is about to get a lot better. Many of this year’s new phones, laptops, TVs, routers, and more will come with support for Wi-Fi 6E, a new upgrade to Wi-Fi that’s essentially like expanding your wireless connection from a two-lane road to an eight-lane highway. It’s the biggest upgrade to Wi-Fi in 20 years, and connections should be faster and a lot more reliable because of it.

The Wi-Fi Alliance, the industry-wide group that oversees Wi-Fi, is now starting to certify the first wave of products with support for Wi-Fi 6E. Phones, PCs, and laptops with support should start hitting the market in the first months of 2021, according to the IDC research group, and TVs and VR devices with support are expected to arrive by the middle of the year.

Some of the first devices are likely to be announced over the next week. During CES, which kicks off on January 11th, router companies will preview what they have coming up for the year. Samsung is also planning to announce its next flagship phones, the Galaxy S21 series, and some if not all of them are likely to have support for Wi-Fi 6E thanks to the Snapdragon 888 processor. Because the chip includes support for it, Wi-Fi 6E should be present in many of this year’s top Android phones.

Wi-Fi 6E is such a big upgrade because it relies on a huge expansion of the wireless airwaves available to consumer devices. In April 2020, the Federal Communications Commission opened up this wide new swath of spectrum in the United States, but new hardware was required in order to make use of it. Nearly a year on, we’re finally starting to see devices with those capabilities.

Existing Wi-Fi devices operate on two spectrum bands, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Wi-Fi 6E adds a third — 6GHz — and there’s a lot more of it, quadrupling the total amount of airwaves used for typical Wi-Fi. That means you can have larger, higher-speed connections, and that airwaves are less likely to be congested. In an apartment building, for instance, your neighbors’ Wi-Fi networks might interfere with your own. But with Wi-Fi 6E, there’s a lot more bandwidth to go around, so there’s less of a chance that you’ll be fighting over the exact same airwaves.

It’ll be some time before most new devices are shipping with Wi-Fi 6E, though. Not all new gadget are even shipping with standard Wi-Fi 6 yet, and that version of Wi-Fi started rolling out about two years ago. By the start of 2022, IDC only expects 20 percent of shipping Wi-Fi 6 products to also support Wi-Fi 6E.

Another hurdle is support from regulators worldwide. Though the US has approved use of 6GHz airwaves, communications regulators in other countries need to approve the spectrum for Wi-Fi use, too. The Wi-Fi Alliance says that the UK, EU, South Korea, Chile, and United Arab Emirates have all given a green light on allowing 6GHz usage for Wi-Fi, while regulators in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Japan are among others where progress is being made.

“There is absolutely momentum, and it is building around making [6GHz] available for Wi-Fi,” Kevin Robinson, the Wi-Fi Alliance’s marketing leader, told The Verge.

The suppression of minority voters reaches the stars of the show.

He actor Tyler Perry, known for his character Madea, had to travel urgently to Georgia to vote since his absentee ballot did not arrive.

“My absentee ballot never came, so I just had to vote in person, so get out there and vote, get out and vote, get out and vote,” Perry said in a video from his car that he posted on Twitter.

Perry has properties in California and Wyoming, but maintains residence in Georgia. On Monday he reported that he never received his absentee ballot. Perry said he ordered it on Dec. 2.

Georgia is singled out as a suppression state for members of minorities, who usually support Democratic candidates. However, Joe Biden won that status in the November election thanks in part to voting by mail, which was massive due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Outgoing President Donald Trump has denounced a fraud without having evidence and went so far as to pressure the Secretary of State of Georgia to find 11,000 votes to change the outcome of the elections.

Elections in Georgia occupy the attention of the country as the majority of the federal Senate decides. Joe Biden’s presidency will be easier if the Democratic candidates snatch both seats from the Republicans.

20 Golden Retriever dogs arrive in Florida to be euthanized in China | The State

Last weekend About 20 dogs of the Golden Retriever breed landed in Florida, from China, after being saved from being slaughtered to market their meat in markets in that Asian country.

The protective organization for dogs called Golden Rescue South Florida She was in charge of saving these dogs, after several months of paperwork; in addition, each dog was given a new home.

“These dogs have been through traumatic experiences, so some don’t even know how to deal with a dog. It takes a lot of patience, a lot of training and a lot of determination, ”said the coordinator of the operation, Kristine Minerva, to CBS.

The operation came to fruition after Golden Rescue South Florida was contacted by a canine shelter in China whose managers asked them to help save the dogs.

They organized a fundraising campaign – bringing each dog has cost a minimum of $ 2,600, according to Minerva – and looked for 20 families who would qualify to successfully take care of the rescued dogs.

Golden Rescue South Florida has previously organized dog rescues in the United States, Puerto Rico and Turkey.

Minerva, coordinator of the operation, told the media that the flight was delayed 40 hours due to a breakdown as the culmination of a long process in which they have received help from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Taiwan, People for an ethical treatment of animals (PETA) and other organizations.

At the airport the dogs were received by the families with whom they will live from now on, who made emotional statements to the media.

Passengers arrive in New York from the UK WITHOUT being checked for COVID despite mutant strain

Passengers arriving in New York City on Virgin flights from the United Kingdom said they didn’t have to take a COVID test before boarding Tuesday, despite the discovery of a new mutant strain of the virus in Britain that is 70 percent more infectious.

On Monday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo called it ‘reprehensible’ and ‘grossly negligent’ that the federal government isn’t acting to address the new strain of coronavirus circulating in the UK.

Several other countries responded to the news of the highly transmissible strain’s discovery by closing their borders to the UK, while more than 120 other nations are now requiring British travelers to provide a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival.

Aggrieved that the US government has so far taken neither action, Cuomo persuaded three airlines – British Airways, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic – to mandate COVID tests for passengers coming to Big Apple from the UK.

British Airways’ mandate commenced Tuesday. Delta and Virgin’s, meanwhile, will begin on Thursday.

Passengers arriving at JFK from Britain on Tuesday told DailyMail.com they were surprised at the lack of screening prior to boarding their flight, considering the emergence of the mutant strand.

Anatoly Grablevsky, 19, said airport officials in London Heathrow didn’t screen him with any pre-boarding questions about any symptoms he may have been suffering from or potential exposure.

‘They didn’t ask me anything,’ he said. ‘There was really nothing to that effect.’

Grablevsky flew back home to the US with Virgin Atlantic. He confirmed he wasn’t required to disclose evidence of a negative test as the mandate has not yet been brought into effect.

WHAT THE AIRLINES ARE DOING

British Airways

Mandatory COVID-19 tests on all flights to NYC starting December 22.

No mandatory tests on all other flights. The airline also flies to LA, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Miami

Delta and Virgin

Mandatory tests on all flights to the US, starting with NYC and Atlanta from December 24.

Travelers will be required to take a LAMP or PCR test up to 72 hours prior to departure adding another layer of safety when they travel.

The airline also operates flights to Orlando and one-stop routes to other US cities

The 19-year-old reiterated his surprise, however, at the seeming lack of safeguarding before he boarded his flight bound for the US.

‘People in the UK are very worried about [the new virus strain]. All of Europe is worried – and I was worried.

‘But I was surprised there was nothing really at the airport about it at all.’

Grablevsky said customs officials took down his details when he deplaned in JFK and was told the state would be in touch.

He said he received a text that required him to acknowledge that he understands he must now quarantine for 14 days.

Similarly, Brian Austin also arrived in the Big Apple from London on a Virgin Atlantic flight.

He said there was around 110 passengers onboard, all of whom were also not required to take a COVID test.

Austin didn’t speak to the pre-boarding protocol in the UK, however insisted he felt ‘very safe’ aboard the flight, and when he arrived in the US.

‘They went overboard with sanitation, they provided disinfectant wipes and they were seen to be disinfecting surfaces throughout – so we felt safe.

‘Also arriving here we felt it was a very safe experience. Officials were emphasizing masks, emphasizing hand sanitizer and so on – so we’re happy travelers.’

On Saturday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that he would be locking down London and parts of southeast England due to a new strain of the coronavirus, which scientists say is 70 percent more transmissible than the original strain. There is no evidence to suggest it’s more deadly.

Cuomo voiced outrage Monday that, considering New York currently has ‘about six flights a day’ coming in from the UK, the White House has so far done ‘absolutely nothing’ to either cut off travel to Britain, or mandate testing for British travelers.

‘To me this is reprehensible because this is what happened in the spring,’ he added, referring to the fact that COVID-19 entered the country earlier this year via travelers from Europe.

‘Doing nothing is negligent. It’s grossly negligent,’ he added.

Admiral Brett Giroir, a member of the White House’s coronavirus task force in charge of testing, told ABC News on Sunday that he doesn’t believe a travel ban on the UK is necessary yet.

‘I read the British medical journals this morning, it’s up to 20 percent of cases in one county, aside from that it is very low and we don’t know that it is more dangerous,’ Giroir told the network. ‘I don’t think there should be any reason for alarm right now.’

In addition to currently opposing a total ban on all UK travel, the US government reportedly also currently has no intentions of imposing mandatory COVID-19 screenings for all flights arriving from Britain, as Cuomo has urged.

According to Reuters, White House coronavirus task force members backed requiring negative pre-flight tests after a meeting on Monday, but the Trump administration has decided not to take any action for the time being.

Much of the world shut their borders to Britain after the discovery of a mutated variant of the novel coronavirus, though the European Union recommended on Tuesday that members roll back sweeping closures to allow some travel.

Canada is implementing enhanced measures to screen travelers from Britain, including those arriving from other nations, its public safety minister said on Tuesday.

While British Airways, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic voluntarily agreed to Cuomo’s request to only allow passengers who test negative to board flights to NYC, dozens of other flights every day between the UK and the US remain unchecked.

BA operates daily flights from London to L.A.X. and next week they cost as little as £200. The airline also flies direct to Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Miami. Passengers will not be required to provide negative test prior to boarding any of the aforementioned flights.

Delta and Virgin also offer one-stop flights to Orlando but tests are not yet required on those flights yet either. The airline says it will enforce testing on all US-bound flights eventually, but they haven’t said when it’ll go into effect on non NYC or Atlanta flights.

United – which operates two daily flights between Heathrow and Newark – said it wasn’t going to change its rules because the federal government hadn’t insisted on it yet.

‘No additional changes are being made at this time but we will continue to monitor the situation,’ a spokesman told DailyMail.com.

American Airlines enforces testing ‘if the destination insists on it’.

The Trump administration has repeatedly refused to issue mandates for many federal COVID-19 safety policies for air travel, making only strong recommendations on issues such as mask wearing. President-elect Joe Biden has vowed to mandate masks in interstate air, bus and train travel after taking office on Jan. 20.

The White House in August scuttled an effort to require airlines to collect contact tracing information from U.S.-bound international passengers, Reuters reported.

The White House in July rejected a proposal to require facial coverings at U.S. airports, train and transit stations and onboard airplanes, trains and transit services and earlier dismissed proposals to require temperature checks of airline passengers.

Speaking on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America,’ Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said it is possible the new COVID-19 variant is already in the United States.

‘You really need to assume it´s here already,’ Fauci said.

Michael Osterholm, a Biden COVID-19 adviser, on Tuesday said all options need to be considered to stem the spread of the new UK variant. He urged the Trump administration to come up with a plan.

‘We really need to develop a national response,’ he told CNN. ‘Everything needs to be on the table.’
