According to the report, in the new beta version, 8 users will be able to join group video and voice calling. The company has started rolling out the latest beta version for iPhone and Android. Many businesses and children’s education have been affected by the lockdown, so this new feature of WhatsApp will be able to challenge the video conferencing app Zoom and Google Dio to a large extent.
Both iPhone and Android users will be able to use
WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo in their report, that up to 8 users will now be able to join WhatsApp group calling and voice calling. The company has started rolling out WhatsApp v2.20.133 beta for Android and WhatsApp v2.20.50.25 beta for iPhone, which will feature this. The company has currently enabled this feature on both platforms and it is expected that soon it will be released for the stable version as well.
Beta version to be updated
- WABetaInfo said that the user will need the beta version to make video calling with 8 people at the moment. If you have already done the update, then you will have to do a backup of the chat history and install Dobora WhatsApp to get the latest updates from the server. Tracker reported that the company is slowly rolling it out to users.
- To do a group video, the user has to go to the group and press the video call button. If there are more than 8 members in the group, then WhatsApp will ask whom you want to join the call, otherwise the call will start directly. If the user is not saved in the address book, then they will not be able to add it to the call.
