The fight against Corona will intensify : The first consignment of Russian vaccine Sputnik-V will come to India on May 1, the company will make 85 crore doses in a year

Many countries have come forward to help, due to the worsening situation in India due to Corona virus. The United States has promised to supply the raw materials needed for the vaccine, while oxygen concentrators are coming from Britain and France. Meanwhile, there has been good news from Russia on the vaccine, which is considered to be the biggest weapon against the virus. India will get its first shipment of Russia’s Sputnik-V vaccine on 1 May.

It was approved by the Government of India in view of the sudden lack of vaccine in the country. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) company is overseeing the production and promotion of the vaccine. RDIF CEO Kirill Dimitriv has said that 50 million doses will be made every month in India right now. As the summer months pass, the company will increase production further. An agreement has been signed with 5 major vaccine manufacturers in India to produce 85 crore (850 million) doses in a year.

The company claims –
Gamalia National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, which produces Sputnik-V, which has been tested on 18,794 patients , claims that the vaccine has proven to be 95% effective in fighting corona. The trial showed 91.4% efficacy at 28 days after the first dose of the vaccine. 42 days after the first dose, it increased to 95%. In addition to the 39 infected two doses of the vaccine, 18,794 were given to other patients. This vaccine is free for the people of Russia. For other countries of the world, its price has been fixed below 700 rupees. The company says that the potential price of Sputnik-V is much lower than other vaccines.

WHO said-
Before the situation in India is shocking, WHO (World Health Organization) has also expressed concern over the growing Corona case in India. The head of the organization, Dr. Tedros Gebreyes, said that the situation in India is heartbreaking at the moment. In the last few days, there have been rapid increase in corona patients. Family of patients are posting on social media to arrange beds and oxygen in hospitals.

He further said that the situation can be gauged from the fact that a week-long lockdown had to be imposed in the capital Delhi. Tedros said that India is fighting a battle against the terrible wave of Kovid-19. Hospitals are filled with patients. There are queues of dead bodies at the crematorium. This condition is heartbreaking. He said that 2600 experts working against polio and tuberculosis (TB) in India have been hired against Corona.
