Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Saturday spoke on what used to happen during these long talks with central ministers. He said only one minister spoke in the meeting while officials slipped him notes.
Rakesh Tikait spoke to India Today Group’s Editorial Consultant Prabhu Chawla for an exclusive interview on ‘SeedhiBaat’. Excerpts from the interview (watch full interview below):
Q. Several rounds of talks have been held so far. There were ministers in the meeting.
A. The ministers used to say only what was given to them in slips by officials. That means they were saying only what someone else told them to say.
There was no government. What ministers said was only based on directions of others.
But, they would rush to have tea quite often. You ask them one question, they would go inside. You ask them another question, they would go inside.

Q: So, what exactly used to happen during those long talks?
A: They would ask one question…and then go in and ask someone for a solution and then again they asked a question and used to verify it…
