Despite the pandemic, McDonald’s has had a good year. And for sample, sales in its US stores grew 5.5% in the fourth quarter of 2020 thanks to strong sales on holidays and drive thru.

McDonald’s plans to continue this streak by expanding both its menu and its presence globally and nationally. And for this, McDonald’s CFO Kevin Ozan said that the company plans to add 1,300 new restaurant locations worldwide, and about 500 of those locations will be in the United States.

“There continues to be a great focus on drive-thru operations, especially since we’ve seen drive-thru continue to be a higher percentage (of sales) of our business,” Ozan said, according to Yahoo.

The company of the golden arches announced that it also plans to double its digital, delivery service and drive-thru operations, which are the parts of your business that generated big sales during the pandemic, which means we can expect new and improved McDonald’s locations to accommodate these types of contactless transactions.
