Justin Bieber reflects on 'confused and angry' time when he was arrested for DUI seven years ago

Justin Bieber reflected on a time where he felt ‘confused and angry’ after being arrested for driving under the influence in Miami seven years ago.

The 26-year-old singer posted photos from when he was arrested with a long message about how he recovered from the challenging time.

‘7 years ago today I got was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god,’ he wrote.

In 2014, the Baby songwriter and singer Khalil were both pulled over in the early hours of the morning on suspicion of street racing.

They were later charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest, among other offenses; a toxicology report was later released confirming that Bieber had both Xanax and THC in his system during the incident.

Justin admitted that his faith played a major role in his maturation since the incident and why he is still a steadfast believer in God.

‘All this to say God has brought me a long way,’ he wrote. ‘From then til now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now.’

He then finished his caption by writing an inspirational, faith-based message to his 159 million followers.

Justin wrote: ‘My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your “today” let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be.’

After the news of the arrest broke, a petition was started to have the singer deported from the United States, and eventually amassed over 270,000 signatures.

In August of that year, the songwriter reached a plea bargain with the prosecutors where he pleaded guilty to resisting an officer without violence in addition to driving without due care and attention.

Underneath his top layer, he wore a pair of bright pink sweat pants to make sure his legs stayed dry amid the outside downpour.
