President Donald Trump announced yesterday that he will sign an executive order to protect babies born prematurely or after surviving an abortion, without specifying the effective date.

Today, I announce that I will sign the Executive Order “Born Alive” to ensure that all precious live-born babies, regardless of their circumstances, receive the medical care they deserve, ”Trump told attendees at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast (NCPB) opening virtual address.

The White House declined to say when they expected the order to be signed. “This is our sacrosanct moral duty,” Trump commented at the virtual event. Then promoted the importance of Catholic schools in educating underserved children, highlighted New York Post.

In his speech, Trump also announced a increased federal funding for neonatal research “To ensure that every child has the best chance to thrive and grow.”

Yesterday’s event also included the controversial Attorney General William Barr, who was honored with the “Christifideles Laici 2020” Award.

Barr, a practicing Catholic, was recognized “for his faithfulness to the church, his selfless and steadfast service in the Lord’s vineyard.”

In his speech, the prosecutor stated that “As [George] Washington and his fellow founders understood, religion is at the heart of the American experiment in self-government. “
