Hispanic Teen Died When Her Motorcycle Crashed Into A Tow Truck In The Bronx | The NY Journal

His passenger was seriously injured; they both hit their heads and were not wearing helmets

Stephanie Gil, an 18-year-old motorcycle driver, was killed when she crashed into the back of a parked tow truck in the Bronx.

His 20-year-old passenger was seriously injured in the accident. Gil was riding the motorcycle near his home, heading east on Hunts Point Avenue, Monday night around 9:15 p.m., when struck the rear of an unoccupied, double-parked platform crane.

Both women were thrown off the motorcycle and they fell to the ground, hitting their heads. None wore a helmet, police sources said.

Officers who responded to a 911 call discovered the two women lying on the road. They were rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where Gil was pronounced dead and her unidentified partner remains in critical condition, they reported. Pix11.

“She was my everything … I can’t believe she died … (She was) too young,” said Gil’s father, Celso Loeza. He added that his daughter just started driving the motorcycle, loaned by a friend, a few days before the fatal collision.

“I told him many times,” he told Daily News, holding a bouquet of sunflowers brought by a mourner, along with the mother, Ivonne Leone. “I told her it was not good for (her). You know that a father always cares ”.
