Solskjaer drops Jadon Sancho hint as he confirms Man Utd’s transfer plans

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Manchester United are “looking to improve” – but only if new recruits are available at the “right price”.
The Red Devils were beaten 3-1 by Crystal Palace on Saturday, with former winger Wilfried Zaha running riot at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer admitted Palace deserved the victory, adding the performance is proof he needs new recruits to improve things down on the pitch.
“You can see we are short and [Palace] deserved the points,” Solskjaer said.
“They were sharper than us in challenges, tackles. We had a long season last season and we didn’t finish until August 16 and we have not had enough preparation time to be sharper.”

He added: “Then again, we’re always, always looking to improve if there’s something out there that’s available to the right price. We always want to strengthen but I think we can all look ourselves in the mirror today instead.”
United had been strongly linked with a move for Jadon Sancho at the start of the summer but were subsequently priced out of a deal.
Dortmund are demanding £108million for their prized asset, and United feel this fee is too steep in the current climate.

Ed Woodward provided a financial update in Saturday’s matchday programme, in which he hinted the club wouldn’t be overspending on players.
Woodward wrote: “Disruption from the pandemic is continuing to create huge economic pressure from the top to the bottom of the football pyramid and while we are fortunate to be in a more resilient position than most clubs, we are not immune from impact.”
