Kristen Bell has been lambasted by horrified fans after she revealed she’s given her daughters, five and seven, non-alcoholic beer.

The 40-year-old Frozen star admitted to letting her girls Lincoln and Delta enjoy the booze free tipple – even allowing them to order it at restaurants.

Her daughters’ dad Dax Shepard has been sober for 16 years and regularly enjoys the drink, so Kristen confessed she sees nothing wrong with her kids indulging in it too.

The actress made the revelation while speaking on the podcast Say Yes! With Carla Hall.

Acknowledging the roasting she was opening herself up for, Kristen began: “I’m going to get a lot of flack for this. And let me start by saying I don’t care.

“You’re welcome to tell me I’m a terrible parent. I don’t care. I’m a great parent, I think. I’m learning every day”.

Kristen said her daughters like to crack open a bottle to feel “close” to their dad.

“When we had our first child and my husband would put her in the Babybjorn and we’d walk around the neighbourhood, he’d pop a non-alcoholic beer in his hand and the baby would paw at it and put the rim in her mouth,” the actress confessed.

“It’s a sentimental thing for my girls, right? It makes them feel close to their dad.”

Attempting to justifying her parental decision, Kristen said: “We’re like, ‘I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just essentially a bubbly juice.

“Right? There’s nothing in it. We also talk to them very much about [Dax’s] sobriety and the importance of it and why Daddy can’t drink.”

The mum-of-two proudly revealed how her girls leave their school pals open-mouthed when they pop a bottle on school Zoom classes.

“They have 15-minute breaks where they’re allowed to jump around and grab a snack and wiggle it out. And I walk in to check on them at 9:30 and both of them are drinking an O’Doul’s on their Zooms.

“They’re both just sipping their Doulies. And I’m like, ‘What must these other parents and teachers think of me?’

“And then I remind myself, ‘You don’t care, Kristen. They can pretend like you’re doing something wrong,'” she defended. “I would argue that I’m not, because it’s nonalcoholic.”

Following her revelations, Kristen was condemned on social media by fellow parents horrified at her decision.

“Not a taste I want by kids getting used to or bragging about,” one laid into the actress on Twitter.

Another slammed: “No type of beer should be acceptable. You don’t want your children interested in drinking. Later it may be alcoholic beer or something stronger.”

A third horrified former fan criticised: “That’s ridiculous to allow your 5 & 7 year old to drink that. He’s going to tell them to do shrooms, smoke weed and drink?

“Lousy parenting. Not that there’s anything wrong with shrooms and weed, just don’t tell your kids to do it. Lost respect for them both.”

Kristen’s decision to let her kids have non-alcoholic beers isn’t the first of her parenting methods to attract controversy.

She was savaged earlier this year after admitting her five-year-old daughter is still wearing nappies – admitting Delta has struggle with potty training.
