Ole Gunnar Solskjaer happy to postpone Man Utd transfer until 2021

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed just one player so far this summer – £40m man Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
Jadon Sancho has been United’s top transfer target all summer, but they have so far been frustrated by Borussia Dortmund’s £108million valuation of the England winger.
Solskjaer also needs to find a new centre-back partner for Harry Maguire and add competition for Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams at left-back.
Sergio Reguilon was identified as an ideal candidate for the latter position – but Tottenham look to have beaten the Red Devils to the Real Madrid man’s signature.
So the search to fill both positions continues – but the manager will wait until next summer in his search for a centre-back, according to the Daily Mail.
United have been linked with a move for RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, but Metro reports they were unwilling to pay his £60m price tag.
It’s a similar situation with Kalidou Koulibaly, with Napoli wanting around £80m for the Senegal centre-back.
Having been stung in the past after paying out millions for players who failed to justify their huge transfer fees, United are reluctant to pay over the odds in a market impacted by the coronavirus crisis.
Manchester United are looking to plot their path back to the top. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already brought in Donny van de Beek but Jadon Sancho remains Manchester United’s number one target.

Solskjaer’s transfer kitty could be in a healthier position by next summer after United secured their return to the Champions League for the coming season.
For now, Victor Lindelof will continue as the first-choice partner for Maguire, while Eric Bailly will at some point have the chance to prove he is over his long-term injury isses.
United’s reluctance to overspend will also offer Axel Tuanzebe an opportunity to stake a claim for a first-team place, although the 22-year-old defender is currently out with a foot injury.
Teden Mengi has also been promoted to the senior squad from the club’s junior setup after impressing Solskjaer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The manager also has Phil Jones in his defensive ranks, as well as Chris Smalling, who is wanted by Roma, although the Serie A side will have to match his £20milion price tag.
