Arsenal fans furious after FIFA 21 changes to Aubameyang and rival Firmino

[ad_1]

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has been given the same FIFA 21 rating as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang despite scoring 17 fewer goals than the Arsenal captain last season.

Developer EA Sports released the top 100 player ratings of the 2021 edition of the popular football video game on Thursday.

Lionel Messi was given the highest rating at 93, while Firmino and Aubameyang were ranked at 87 to feature high up the list.

The Premier League pair being awarded the same rating is sure to raise eyebrows; while Firmino was criticised for his tally of 12 goals in 51 games last season, Aubameyang finished as joint-second-top scorer in the Premier League and netted 29 times in 44 appearances across all competitions.

The Gabon star was handed an 87 rating…

…as was Liverpool No9 Firmino

To make the matter even more confusing, the Gunners captain was in fact downgraded from his FIFA 20 rating of 88, while Brazil star Firmino received a boost from 86.

Aubameyang took to Twitter to react to his new rating with a variety of laughing and crying emojis, but Gunners fans on the social media platform found the ranking less amusing.

“How can they downgrade [Aubameyang] when he actually has been in form over the last 5 to 6 years consistently, which means his FIFA card should increase or at least kept his previous card,” one supporter wrote.

Aubameyang has scored in his last two Arsenal games – the FA Cup final and Community Shield – and another fan added: “Auba didn’t score back to back trophy winning braces for this.”

One Gunners supporter claimed Aubameyang had a case to be rated 91, alongside FIFA 21’s ranking for Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski and Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

Another social media user labelled the changes to Aubameyang and Firmino’s ratings as “absolutely diabolical” and a fellow fan added: “The anti-Arsenal agenda still alive and well.”
