Ellen DeGeneres has said that she will be addressing claims of the “toxic” work environment on her show, when it returns later this month.

The 62-year-old comedian has announced the return of The Ellen DeGeneres Show for its 18th season and will set about putting a few things right in its premiere outing.

Ellen released a statement in which she said: “I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it.”

Variety has reported that Ellen will be joined on stage by Tiffany Haddish but there will be no studio audience dur to Covid-19 restrictions.

It was also announced that over the series, Ellen will be joined by Chrissy Teigen, Alec Baldwin and Kerry Washington on her daytime talk show.

Katy Perry is also set to appear after she defended the beleaguered entertainer at the height of the accusations made against her and the senior producers by former employees of her team.

It is hoped that singer Katy will be joined by her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, as they celebrate the first couple months of their baby daughter.

Warner Bros. is currently investigating allegations of bullying, racism and sexual harassment.

There have already been changes during the fall out with executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman, along with co-executive producer Jonathan Norman, all being sacked from the show.

Ellen then gave an emotional apology to her staff as she opened up about tackling the issues that had been alleged.

A source told The Sun that Ellen has been “waiting to speak to her team this whole time” but was “not allowed because of the investigation.”

A former staff member told Daily Mail  that despite this, Ellen is no better when she is ‘at home’ than what she is alleged to be at work.

The former employee said: “My belief is that someone’s real personality comes out at home.

“So after everything that has been said about her at work, you can imagine how terrible Ellen is going to be at home when her guard is down.”

Katy Perry, who has supported Ellen during her crisis, will appear on her talk show

She also claimed: “Sometimes she would yell at us but it was more about the incredibly condescending tone she would use. She treated you like you were nothing.

“She was going to torture you and you were just going to sit there and listen to it because you were being paid.

“Ellen was the worst person that I’ve ever met in my life. She takes pleasure in firing people.”

The Ellen Show is set to return on Monday, September 21.
