Chelsea transfer round-up as trio close in on Premier League moves

[ad_1]

It’s been a busy summer window at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea making no fewer than six new signings.

The Blues don’t appear to be finished either, with a number of players linked with a move to the club.

In particular, Frank Lampard’s search for a new goalkeeper seems to be intensifying.

Over £200 million has been spent on new additions and so with the possible exception of the signing of a new goalkeeper, it’s likely the majority of the business left in this window for Chelsea will concern outgoings.

Here are three of the biggest and most intriguing Chelsea transfer stories.

Fikayo Tomori could have a season away from west London

Everton close to striking deal for Tomori

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is close to joining Everton on loan, with the 22-year-old keen to gain regular first team football this season.

According to ESPN, a number of clubs registered their interest in Tomori, with Rennes and Newcastle United both involved in the pursuit of the youngster, but Everton look set to have won the race.

Tomori broke through at Stamford Bridge last term, earning first-team minutes as Lampard experimented with a number of different options at the back.

However, the 22-year-old failed to play a single game after lockdown, partly due to injury, and looks to have been knocked down the pecking order after the summer signings of Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.

Michy Batshuayi could return to Crystal Palace on loan

Batshuayi to sign new contract before joining Crystal Palace

Michy Batshuayi is set to sign a new contract at Chelsea before sealing a loan return to Crystal Palace for the 2020/21 season.

BBC Sport claims the 26-year-old will put pen to paper on a new deal to prevent him from leaving Stamford Bridge as a free agent next summer, but will be loaned out to Selhurst Park.

Batshuayi spent the second half of the 2018/19 on loan at Crystal Palace, scoring six goals in 13 appearances for the Eagles, and is set to return after seeing his first team opportunities limited further following the signing of Timo Werner.

Palace’s decision to move for Batshuayi means Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher can’t move to Selhurst Park on loan due to Premier League regulations.

West Brom interested in Chelsea midfielder

West Brom could pick up their long-term interest in Gallagher, with the youngster expected to leave Stamford Bridge on loan this summer.

The 20-year-old had been on Crystal Palace’s radar, but their move for Batshuayi means Gallagher will be restricted from signing for the Selhurst Park outfit due to Premier League regulations regarding loans between clubs.

According to Birmingham Live, Gallagher could now be on his way to the Hawthorns after impressing in loan spells at both Charlton Athletic and Swansea City in the Championship last season

The Baggies have previously registered their interest in Gallagher, asking about the player in January, but the Midlands club could now lure the midfielder to the club for this season.
