Man Utd transfer news: Henderson and Grealish swap touted as Spanish duo to sign

[ad_1]

The summer transfer window is far from over, but it has already felt long and drawn out from a Manchester United perspective.

Their high-profile pursuit of Jadon Sancho has proved frustrating and has overshadowed everything else that has happened in the weeks since the end of the season.

There is, though, plenty of time yet for business to be done. And Sancho’s potential arrival is not the only significant transfer that United could complete before the window closes.

Here are all the latest rumours from Old Trafford.

United set to sign Spanish youngsters

Marc Jurado is currently under quarantine after arriving in the UK ahead of signing for United

United are on the verge of completing deals to sign Spanish duo Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez, according to Sky Sports.

The teenagers, both full-backs, will join from the youth set-ups of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

The players are currently in Manchester, under a two-week quarantine after arriving from Spain, and are expected to put pen to paper next month ahead of the start of the new season.

Jurado, 16, and Fernandez, 17, have already been pictured in United training gear having turned down new contracts with the Spanish giants.

Goalkeeper joins Huddersfield on loan

Joel Castro Pereira has ‘all the demands’ the Terriers were looking for in a keeper

United goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira has completed a loan move to Championship side Huddersfield ahead of the new season.

The 24-year-old, who has been at the club since 2012, has been sent out on loan several times, including spells in Portugal, Belgium and Scotland.

It remains to be seen whether he will ever force his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans, but he will first hope to impress with Huddersfield.

“Joel Pereira is a player that covers all the demands we have from our goalkeepers,” said the Terriers boss Carlos Corberan.

“In terms of his reflexes, domination of the box, covering spaces and distribution of the play – all of these abilities are something that aren’t easy to find in a keeper.”

Jack Grealish remains on United’s radar, though Aston Villa’s £75million asking price is likely to prove a sticking point.

Solskjaer could look to lessen the cost of any potential deal by offering players in exchange.

The Mail claims that goalkeeper Dean Henderson may be included as part of a bid to sign Grealish, despite having only recently signed a new five-year contract at Old Trafford.

That would only be a loan, though, and a couple of other players would likely need to be offered to sweeten the deal.

Another goalkeeper, Sergio Romero, has been mentioned, while full-back Diogo Dalot could head to Villa Park having fallen out of favour at United.

It remains to be seen whether Villa are willing to entertain such an offer. What is clear, though, is that their position has been significantly strengthened after they avoided relegation from the top flight.
