Inside the stunning historic hotel where the Strictly stars will quarantine

The stunning historic hotel where the Strictly Come Dancing professionals will quarantine together for 14 days before the show returns has been revealed.

The Manor Hotel in middle of the Hertfordshire countryside has everything the show’s stars could possibly need as they move in together ahead of the new series.

With lavish interiors and 10 acres of garden to explore, the stars will feel as if they aren’t stuck away from the world despite the realities of their ‘new normal.’

A-Listers such as Tom Cruise and John Cleese have stayed the night in recent years with footballers also known to visit the near 500-year-old historic venue.

But what’s going on in the kitchen may be making them a little nervous.

According to The Sun, attention was needed after a visit from inspectors in 2019.

A recent inspection of the stated ‘improvement necessary’ – but execs are said to be confident of the measures they have in place to keep things safe.

A worrying recent TripAdvisor review fumed: “The food was so bad we decided not to stay for breakfast!”

Mirror Online has contacted both the BBC and The Manor Hotel for comment.

Strictly is set to return to our screens in October, with no studio audience or group dances this year owing to social distancing restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic.

This week the BBC announced the first two names on the line-up with more expected to be revealed over the coming weeks.

Comedian Bill Bailey and actress Caroline Quentin have been confirmed with the new series – with both stars saying they can’t wait to get their dancing shoes on.

They will be joined at the hotel with professional dancers including Oti Mabuse, Neil Jones and Katya Jones and no doubt there will be plenty of pre-show rehearsal going on with no escape for the celebs.

Near to the show’s Elstree studios, the plush hotel features elegant beams with the venue dating back to 1540.

It’s 49 rooms all offer gorgeous beds with stylish design. There is a gym too – as well as a pop-up Shisha bar.

Anyone staying on the second floor will be treated to stunning views of the London skyline.

Costing up to £334 a night to stay, BBC bosses aren’t holding back to ensure the dancers are totally safe.

They will be totally alone – and will have the run of the place.

A hotel statement confirmed: “The hotel will be closed for an exclusive booking from Monday, August 24 until Sunday, September, 20, 2020. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

“We re-open on Monday 21st September and look forward to welcoming you back.”

Execs are refusing to take chances when it does return.

Strictly Come Dancing told MailOnline: “As we continue to follow the latest guidance from Public Health England and industry guidelines, we are considering isolating the dancers and key production members to enable our much-loved group numbers to continue. 

“We’re incredibly proud of our professional dancers for their dedication to the show and their commitment to showcasing their love of dance to the nation.

“The safety of our cast and crew is of the utmost importance to us and further updates will be made in due course.”
