A Great British Bake Off contestant’s life is changing in more ways than one.

Dave Friday, who is competing in the new series when it airs later this month, is about to become a dad.

The 30-year-old, who works as a security guard, is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Stacey.

Earlier this month he took to his Instagram account to share a stunning black and white photo of the two of them in which he kissed her baby bump.

Stacey, who appears to be quite far along in her pregnancy, beamed down at him as he knelt down and cradled her bump.

“My world,” he captioned the post, alongside two love heart emojis.

A keen baker, his Instagram is also full of the delicious-looking food he has made.

Dave and Stacey live together in Hampshire.

He says his baking strengths are making bread and mirror glazes.

His other interests include cars and DIY, he said.

Dave says: “I remember meeting Matt Lucas and realising he was as nervous as I was being there – and meeting Noel was a lifelong dream.”

This year both contestants and crew have been isolating together to prevent an outbreak of coronvirus on set.

For six weeks, Down Hall Hotel became home to all the cast, crew, judges, staff and cleaners, quarantined together in one big bubble.

But a Bake Off boss has revealed they had a coronavirus scare, with the set shut down when someone had symptoms.
