India Today has exclusively accessed a photograph, clicked on February 6, 2020, which shows Sushant Singh Rajput sitting at a Mumbai cafe with his sister Rani and brother-in-law OP Singh. This pic was clicked at the time when OP Singh and wife Rani had visited Mumbai and met the actor. The photograph is particularly significant because it falls perfectly into the timeline of OP Singh’s Mumbai visit, his text exchange with Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend Siddharth Pithani, his conversation with ex-DCP, Mumbai Police Zone 9, Paramjit Singh Dahiya, and his subsequent complaint to the Mumbai Police where he alleged that the actor was in “bad company” and that his “life was in danger”.

February 9, 2020

OP Singh sent messages to Sushant Singh Rajput via his friend and the-then flatmate Siddharth Pithani asking him to keep Rani out of his matter. OP Singh had alleged that these messages were sent to Siddharth because they couldn’t get in touch with Sushant Singh Rajput. Siddharth had then forwarded the texts to Sushant. These messages were retrieved from Sushant’s phone by the Mumbai Police.

1. Reached Chandigarh. Thanks for your fervent invitation to Mumbai. It connected me to scores of old friends.

2. Appreciating that you are not in charge of your life, career or house, I am happy that I guessed the situation correctly and planned my visit accordingly.

3. Please keep my wife away from your problems. It is because of company you keep, unhelpful habits and gross mismanagement. I am determined to ensure that my wife is not penalised only because she is good…

4. Appreciating that I am the only one who can help you, I am still available. In case of need, tell whoever is in charge of your upkeep and maintenance – your girlfriend, her family or your manager -to work out a mutually agreeable arrangement with my office.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s brother-in-law OP Singh had informally spoken to the ex-DCP Zone 9 in Mumbai and IPS officer Paramjit Singh Dahiya on several occasions in the month of February. Some of the messages sent by OP Singh to Dahiya show how Sushant, due to some unknown reasons, wasn’t communicating with his family and relatives. This claim, however, doesn’t fly anymore, given that OP Singh, Rani and Sushant Singh Rajput were spotted together on February 6 itself.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s family had also sent WhatsApp chats to Mumbai Police, informing them that the actor’s life was in danger. The same set of messages also showed that Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, kept him at a resort near the Mumbai airport for three months. On August 3, Sushant’s family had released these as proof that they had in fact informed Mumbai Police that the actor’s life was in danger, but, the Mumbai Police failed to take any action.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s family, from the very beginning, has maintained that Rhea Chakraborty had a role to play in isolating the actor from his family. They’ve also alleged that Rhea did not inform them when she was leaving Sushant’s home on June 8, which was imperative, considering Sushant was on several medications and someone close from the family needed to take over and supervise those medicines. However, with this fresh photograph, accessed by India Today, the family’s allegations against Rhea, at least in this regard, can be severely questioned.
