OnePlus Nord Launch Live Updates: OnePlus Nord is all set to launch via an AR launch event today. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced all companies to launch products via a pre-recorded video. OnePlus did the same during its OnePlus 8 series and its OnePlus TV 2020 series launch earlier this year. Taking a step further, OnePlus has announced to host an AR launch event. This is the industry’s first-ever AR launch event.

To host the event, OnePlus will use Augmented Reality technologies. The company has also sold AR launch invites on Amazon at Rs 99 each, with the help of which people can experience the new Nord in AR. The event will start at 7:30 PM IST today.You will be able to watch the event in two ways: First, by visiting the official website of the company and watch the livestream of the event and the second one is by using the OnePlus Nord AR app.

Ahead of the launch OnePlus has revealed some of the key specifications of the OnePlus Nord. The affordable OnePlus Nord will come with Snapdragon 765G processor, 48MP quad rear camera setup, 32MP dual selfie cameras, bigger battery and screen. Alongside the OnePlus Nord the company has also confirmed to launch its first pair of truly wireless earphones, OnePlus Buds.

OnePlus Nord is the first smartphone in the Chinese smartphone maker’s Nord series that will be targeted to the mid-range smartphone buyers.

OnePlus Nord launch kicked off at 07:30pm IST with OnePlus’ Carl Pei on the stage as a part of an augmented reality (AR) presentation. Pei started by talking about the OnePlus 8 series, which the company claims has been pretty successful for it. Pei added that the company listened to the community feedback before developing the OnePlus Nord. Pei then moved directly to the launch of the day. According to the executive, Nord brings the company back to its roots of providing great quality at an affordable pricing.  

OnePlus Nord is the latest smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker. It is targeted to the mid-range segment. It uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. It will be offered in Blue Marble and Gray Onyx colours. 

Other specifications of the phone include a 6.44-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage. The RAM is LPDDR4X, whereas the onboard storage is UFS 2.1. 

Additionally, there is a quad camera setup that is headlined by a 48-megapixel main camera, alongwith a an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The front hole-punch cutouts include two selfie cameras – 32-megapixel main camera + 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. 

OnePlus Nord comes with Google’s Messages, Duo, and Phone apps for great and safe experience. 

Further, there is a 4,115mAh battery onboard that supports Warp Charge 30T fast charging technology, which enables the phone to charge from zero to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. You will also get an in-display fingerprint sensor, 5G support, and NFC.

On the software front, the OnePlus Nord runs on Android 10-based OxygenOS 10.5. 

Pei then moved to OnePlus Buds, the company’s first truly wireless earbuds. The earbuds come with seven hours of battery life on a single charge. The runtime increases to 30 hours when re-charged using the battery in the case. The case is also confirmed to support Warp Charge. The Warp Charge support will allow the earbuds to get juice worth 10 hours in just 10 minutes for charge. 

Other features of the OnePlus Buds include a 13.4mm dynamic driver as well as 3D stereo support with Dolby Atmos (or stunning sound quality with Dirac Audio Tuner support).

Also, OnePlus has revealed that the earbuds will weigh 4.6 grams each and the charging case weighs 36 grams. The earbuds will be offered in White, Nord Blue and Gray colours. 

OnePlus Nord, OnePlus Buds price in India

In terms of the pricing, OnePlus Nord will start at Rs. 24,999 in India for the base 6GB + 64GB model. The 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB models will retail at Rs. 27,999 and Rs. 29,999, respectively. The OnePlus Nord will go on sale via Amazon India and OnePlus.in starting August 4; however, there is a catch. The base 6GB + 64GB model won’t be available until September. So, for a month or more, the Nord buyers will only get to choose from 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM models.

OnePlus Buds have been priced at Rs. 4,990.
