Raje-maharajas, elephant riders, nut-madari-monkey-bear games and the viziers who disappeared by standing upright on the rope in the sky, may not be the identity of India in the world anymore, but the methods of worship, From meditation and yoga to our pompous colorful weddings, the West still surprises us. Indian wedding is a unique event for the world. That’s why Netflix’s new show Indian Matchmaking remains a topic of discussion in the world of OTT. In India, marriage is a personal affair of two families rather than a personal affair of two people of the West, so it is a bit complicated. From the groom’s tantrums, fufa’s slogans, the reception of the wedding processions and the theft of shoes, the tales of the bride’s farewell make the wedding memorable. In the olden days, pandits and pandits used to organize weddings, but now matchmakers have arrived. From open offices in the buildings to online skies, there are joints in them.

Girls involved in Indian matchmaking have generally crossed the age of marriage from traditional views. He is busy in his career. But some corner of his personal life is empty and deserted. Some girls are divorced. They have different problems. Total marriage is not perfect for girls without marriage. But where are the boys alone alone? Here in Mumbai, Pradyuman and Akshay are characters who are born with silver spoons in their mouths. Akshay’s family is under tight control of the mother. She wants to get him married at the age of 25. His elder brother is married. He is not raising the family just because he has to do this job only after the marriage of younger brother! This is the mother’s command.
In Indian matchmaking, there are also astrologers studying the future of marriage by looking at their face and horoscope. Where there is difficulty, Seema takes her help to join the relationship. The show states that getting kundalis is insurance for a successful wedding. If you find romance or emotion of a Bollywood film in this reality show, it will be difficult. The show states that matchmaking is a process. A process in which continuous use occurs. Till the experiment is successful, that is, until it becomes a matter between two people, then it has to be done. However, in the reality show of this world of 2020, some things may seem ridiculous to you.
But while watching the show, it is clear that amidst all the scientific-intellectual-emotional progress, it is clear that marriage is a relationship that you have to compromise to adjust, a little adjusting. Nobody is perfect. There is nothing like perfect. The same thing applies to this show as well. It is also realized that these real stories of looking for a bride and groom in an Indian wedding are more to entertain Western society. The reality that passes before us is less here. This show of Indian matchmaking will keep old perceptions of western society about Indian youth progressing for some more time.
