Kolhapur : Muslim community donates 10 bed ICU in Maharashtra, CM Uddhav Thackeray praised

Kolhapur : In Ichalkaranji town of Kolhapur district of Maharashtra, the Muslim community has donated a 10-bed ICU to the state government for the treatment of people suffering from corona. On this Ramadan, the Muslim community donated 36 lakh rupees on the appeal of the state government, while preventing unnecessary expenditure.

On Monday, on the occasion of Eid, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the 10-bed ICU unit at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. It has become the first government hospital in Ichalkaranji city where ICU facility will now be available. With this, the state government has taken another step forward in the war against Corona.

Inaugurating the 10-bed ICU unit online, Chief Minister Thackeray said, “The Muslim community in Ichalkaranji has presented a perfect example of how the festival is celebrated by donating Rs. 36 lakhs for the ICU unit.”

In fact, in Ichalkaranji, an organization of Muslims ‘Samast Muslim Samaj’ (SMS) had decided to provide a 10-bed ICU in the city’s only government hospital during the holy month of Ramadan. Earlier, patients here were sent to cities like Kolhapur and Solapur.

More than 32 thousand corona cases in Mumbai


Maharashtra, the financial capital of the country, is most vulnerable to the corona virus. The total number of infected patients in Maharashtra has reached 54,758. A total of 1792 deaths have taken place so far and 16,954 people have been sent home after recovering. At the same time, the number of corona infected in Mumbai has crossed 32 thousand and 1065 people have died.
