Vadodara, Gujarat : Wife defeated in Ludo, Angry husband breaks backbone

Lockdown is in force in the country to prevent the spread of corona virus infection. During this time people are spending their time playing online games. However, cases of domestic violence have also increased by 95 per cent due to stay in the home. The latest incident has come to light in Vadodara, Gujarat, where a quarrel between husband and wife over Ludo. After this, the husband broke the backbone of the wife.

According to the Times of India, a 24-year-old woman from Vadodara beat her husband in Ludo three to four times in a row. Counselor of 181 Abhayam Helpline said that the woman teaches tuition in her home to run a family. She asked her husband to play Ludo online to stay indoors and spend time during the lockdown.

After continuous defeat in Ludo, there was a fight between husband and wife. After this, the husband started beating her. The counselor said, “The husband’s ego may have been hurt after losing his wife.”

The woman’s husband works in a private electronic company. At the same time, the woman herself has done a beautician course and teaches tuition to children. After the assault, the husband apologized to the wife, after which she refused to lodge a police complaint.

Domestic violence cases increased in lockdown

At the same time, domestic violence cases have increased up to 95 percent nationwide during the lockdown. Recently, the National Commission for Women made this claim on the basis of complaints received from various cities in the 25 days before and after the nationwide bandh. According to the Commission, the cases of domestic violence against women have increased almost twice. The commission released the figures after comparing the complaints received between 27 February to 22 March this year and 23 March to 16 April during the lockdown. According to this, before the bandh, the Commission had received 123 complaints of domestic violence, while 239 cases of domestic harassment were registered online and through other means during lockdown.
