Lockdown will continue at Corona Hotspot; PM Modi told states: sources

PM Modi said that the decision will be made after May 3, the lockdown will continue in those areas which are more affected and district-wise concession will be given in those states where the situation is fine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held talks with the Chief Ministers of the state through video conferencing regarding the coronavirus crisis and lockdown. According to sources, PM Modi said that a policy has to be prepared for opening lockdown. States should formulate their own policy on how to open Red, Green and Orange zones. During the meeting, the Chief Ministers of nine states put forth their views before the Prime Minister. Four of these chief ministers have suggested increasing the lockdown. Please tell that to prevent the spread of corona infection, lockdown was imposed across the country. This lockdown will continue till 3 May. 

Sources said that PM Modi has indicated in a meeting with the Chief Ministers that the decision will be taken after May 3, the states which are more affected, the lockdown will continue in those districts where the situation is fine, district-wise concession will be given. The Prime Minister said that there is no need to worry on the economy front. Our economy is in good shape. 

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conard Sangma wrote in his tweet- “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah met through video conference. We have suggested to continue the lockdown even after May 3. However, the districts of Meghalaya where Corona No virus cases or activities in the green zone may be allowed. ”

Coronavirus is rapidly spreading legs in India. The death toll from Covid-19 in the country reached 872. According to the latest data released on Monday by the Ministry of Health, so far 872 people have died due to coronavirus in India while the number of infected cases has increased to 27,892. At the same time, 1,396 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours and 48 people have died. However, it is a matter of some relief that so far 6,185 patients have been cured of this disease. 381 people got cured in 24 hours.
