Bihar : Minor son steals for mother suffering from hunger, judge gave this punishment
Bihar Sharif. The lockdown has made the living of such people, who were able to barely manage two days of bread even in ordinary days. In such difficult times, such people of the society are also coming forward, who are understanding the helplessness of the poor and are extending their help towards them. One such case came to light in Biharsharif in Nalanda district on Friday 17 April. Police presented a judge to a judge on charges of theft. When the judge came to know that Kishore had stolen to get food for his starving mother, he gave him ration and cloth instead of punishment.
The judge ordered to give benefits of the schemes
The minor, residing in Islampur, was produced by the police in the court of Manvendra Mishra, Principal Judicial Magistrate of Juvenile Justice Council. He freed the teenager. At the same time, the officials were ordered to help him in every possible way and give benefits of welfare schemes. He provided rations for the teenager to eat and clothes for his deranged mother. In his order, Mishra instructed the ISP of Islampur to take the teenager safely to his home and monitor his protection and testing. Also, asked to submit progress report related to Kishore to JJB (Juvenile Justice Council) every four months.
Father is dead, mother is deranged
Kishore’s father died a few years ago. After the death of his father his mother was deranged. The condition of the mother is such that even for daily activities, she is dependent on her son. There is also a younger brother. The responsibility of the maintenance of the family rests with the teenager. In the name of the house there is a broken mud hut of raw clay. There is not even a bed to sleep on. Mother and son sleep on the ground somehow. Food and drink is a big problem.

The judge wrote a letter to BDO
The judge wrote a letter to Islampur BDO and directed Kishore to give benefits of government schemes. To get food grains available, ration cards, widow pension to Kishore’s mother, grant money for house construction, Aadhaar card, income certificate, residential certificate, opening bank account, to be linked to sponsorship scheme operated by Social Welfare Department, Kishore has been asked to provide facilities like linking with skill development program.
