Covid-19 updates: Delhi govt will give ₹5K to construction workers, says CM

In India, as the coronavirus cases multiply rapidly, several cities have been placed under lockdown, domestic flights have been banned and incoming traffic at 107 immigration check points has been stopped.

The coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 16,000 and infected more than 375,000 people worldwide, is forcing nations to impose tougher measures to curb the spread of Covid-19. PM Boris Johnson has placed a strict curfew in UK to enforce social distancing and banned gatherings of more than two people, allowing people to leave homes for only four specified reasons.

In India, many cities are under lockdown, domestic flights banned and incoming traffic has been stopped at 107 immigration check points. The number of positive cases is 506 as per the Indian Council of Medical Research while the death toll as on Monday evening rose to nine.
