The officer, who was under training as a driver in the Intelligence Bureau, was found dead in the Chand Bagh area of Delhi, which is among the several regions of the national capital that have been rocked by violence in the last few days.
The officer’s body was found in a drain in Northeast Delhi’s Chand Bagh Wednesday morning. The officer had joined the Intelligence Bureau in 2017 and was under training as a driver.
Chand Bagh is one of the several areas in Delhi that has been the site of major violence after clashes between groups supporting and opposed to the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. At least 20 people — including a police constable — have been killed and more than 180 others have been injured in the violence.
The Delhi violence forced the police to impose curfew in the affected areas Tuesday night.
