Donald Trump’s paraphernalia starts landing in Gujarat
First cargo plane has arrived in Ahmedabad ahead of ‘Namaste Trump’ mega event.
- The cargo plane has also brought along a security vehicle for Trump.
- Regular inspection of the event venue is going on in Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad: Days before Ahmedabad is ready to host US President Donald Trump for the mega event ‘Namaste Trump’ on February 24, the first cargo plane carrying Trump’s important articles landed in the city on Monday. The plane arrived with a security vehicle that would be a part of Trump’s cavalcade during the 22-km-long roadshow from the airport to Sabarmati Ashram.
Media reports suggest that the aircraft is believed to have brought in some security equipment as well. Sources have also revealed that more of such cargo planes are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad over the next few days. These planes would carry vehicles, arms and ammunition, and equipment. According to reports, while four of the cargo aircraft are expected to land in the city ahead of the presidential visit, three more aircraft – out of which two will be cargo and one passenger plane will land in the Gujarat city along with Trump’s plane on February 24.
Sources also suggest that US Secret Service agents have already arrived in Ahmedabad and are camping at various hotels. They have also been checking the arrangements at the Motera stadium where the event is to be held. The stadium has now been closed for everyone except the organizers and the security personnel.
Trump is expected to stay in Ahmedabad for about 2,5 hours before moving to Delhi and Agra where he would be visiting Taj Mahal. During his Ahmedabad visit, Trump, along with his wife, will visit the Sabarmati Ashram.
