Aadhaar issuing organization UIDAI has given information about updating it in their Aadhaar number database. UIDAI has said in a tweet about it that you do not have to show any document to update the mobile number. For this, you only have to pay a fee of 50 rupees.

In this tweet, UIDAI said, ‘If you also want to update your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, then you don’t need any documents anymore. You can just take your Aadhaar card and go to any nearest Aadhaar service center and give a request to update the mobile number.
To update the number in Aadhaar, you have to visit your nearest Aadhaar service center. Here the representative present at the center will process the update. You will have to spend 50 rupees for this work.
Why is it important to update the mobile number?
Whenever you use Aadhaar number to do any verification process, OTP is sent to your mobile number. This OTP is sent to your registered or email ID only. In this case, if your mobile number has changed, then this OTP will come on your old number. And then you will not be able to complete the OTP process.
