Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, We were in talks with BJP for the last 3 days, but we are not ready to retreat at our stand. This is the reason why it has been decided on the orders of our leader that the Shiromani Akali Dal will distance itself from the assembly elections in Delhi. Let me tell you that Manjinder Singh Sirsa is currently an MLA from Shiromani Akali Dal in Delhi and this time he too has refused to contest elections considering the decision of the party.

No problem on seat sharing

When Manjinder Singh Sirsa was asked whether any decision was to be made on the issue of seat sharing and ticketing with the BJP behind this decision, he flatly denied this. Sirsa said that the matter has not happened on the seat or ticket sharing. Manjinder Singh Sirsa was asked if he would like to go to Shaheen Bagh now, to this, he gave a roundly reply and said that we are in favor of the Citizenship Amendment Act, while the people sitting there are against it. We do not have complete ideological equality with them.

Chandra Kumar Bose has suggested his party to the BJP and said that people should know about the benefits of the Citizenship Amendment Act. With this, he said that just because we have the numbers today, we cannot do politics of intimidation. News agency ANI quoted him as saying, ‘I have suggested to my party leadership that with a slight amendment the campaign of the entire opposition can be stopped. We need to specifically state that this atrocity is for the minorities, we should not mention any religion. We have to change our perspective.
He has also said, ‘When a bill is passed as a law, it becomes legally binding on the state governments, but in a democratic country you cannot force any law on citizens. Our job is to convince people that we are right and they are wrong. Just because we have the numbers today, we cannot do politics of intimidation. We should tell people about the benefits of citizenship law.
