Strictly Come Dancing ‘s Movie Week special left fans irritated as they complained “too much talking” ruined the show.

While fans patiently wait for the return of Strictly this October, BBC bosses have put together a series of specials from the archives.

The movie week special aired on Saturday night, but it didn’t please all viewers.

During the show’s movie week, the professionals and their celebrity partners can get creative with songs, routines and outfits – based around films.

While re-watching the epic moments home, some viewers complained there was too much commentary going on over the top of clips which left them unable to enjoy the show.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their disappointment.

One wrote: “Why, oh why, can’t you show the best routines all the way through, without interruption…

“Without voiceovers, as they were meant to be seen? Instead, every single routine was spoilt. So disappointing.”

Fans were furious over the show

A second penned: “Are you actually showing any dances, or just 10 second snippets with talking over it?”

As a third added: “Didn’t even watch this till 8pm cant believe I’ve waited to see this… waste of a programme movie week is usually the best thought I would be watching full dances not just clips and full of rubbish chat… sorry just expected so much more from strictly.”

Claudia Winkleman also made an appearance

However it wasn’t all negative, as others thoroughly enjoyed a trip down memory lane watching their favourite performances.

“Loving this walk down memory lane with  @bbcstrictly. Loving the pros talking about the dances too,” they gushed.

Mirror Online has contacted Strictly for comment.
