Reality star Amy Childs is making a comeback for Towie’s 10th anniversary series – and fans have been amazed by how little she’s changed over the years.
Amy – who is mum to Polly, three, and Rich, two – found fame as the bubbly beautician on the ITVBe show, and went on to star in CelebrityBig Brother, The Jump and Celebs Go Dating.
Here, 30-year-old Amy shares her fitness secrets.
What is your usual weekly fitness regime?
“My partner Tim and I do a VIP Essex Bootcamp every Sunday. Like everyone, we like to overindulge at the weekend so at least we know we’ve got that every week to burn off calories.
“It’s a mix of cardio and strength exercises and is the hardest hour of your life.
“Now I’m back filming it’s hard to work out as much as I’d like but I try to fit in a few classes or gym sessions, but Sunday bootcamp is guaranteed!”
Did being in lockdown affect your workouts?
“Definitely, especially as I was isolated with the kids. It was
hard to find time for fitness indoors with them, but I tried to do something once a week, half an hour here and there when they napped.”
Have you gained or lost weight?
“Like everyone, I did indulge during lockdown and have a prosecco now and again. Tim and I also had barbecues in the garden with the kids.
“I did see an increase in my weight – not too much, and I
am getting back to my normal weight now.”
What is your typical daily diet?
“Breakfast is poached eggs on brown toast, lunch is always chicken – like a chicken wrap or salad. Tim’s a really good cook so most nights are different. He makes great spag bol. Last week we had a delicious prawn stir-fry.
What do you like to snack on?
“I’m not a chocolate lover, it’s a bag of crisps for me – Wotsits or Quavers – and I love some cheese and biscuits for a treat.”
What is your favourite drink?
“I love my prosecco and enjoy a cheeky glass when the kids are in bed. I don’t really like wine but I’m getting into gin with
pink lemonade.”

Do you have a signature dish?
“Everyone laughs at me because I make and love fajitas. The girls always laugh when they come round and ask if I’m going to make chicken fajitas. They call me the Fajita Girl.”
What is your favourite takeaway or meal out?
“Domino’s Pizza for takeaway and for a meal out we like a bit of everything, we’re not fussy. We really like Thai and Indian.”
What is the best and worst diet you have done?
“The diet that works for me is calorie counting, that’s when I have lost the most weight.
“Now I eat healthily Monday to Friday and that seems to be working for me.
“The worst was the Atkins Diet. It might work for others but I tried it for a week and it didn’t work for me.”
How do you like to look after your skin?
“I’ve really laid off on procedures and look after my skin and face internally now, by taking Reverse Life Marine Collagen (reverselife.com).
“It’s the biggest dose of available collagen you can get and I have seen a huge difference to my lines, hydration and plumpness.
“We lose collagen as we begin to age and it’s what sticks our skin cells together so it makes sense to me to take it.”
What are your top tips for staying in shape?
“Do build in treats and cheats to any diet or you won’t stick to it.
“Find an exercise or class you like that also challenges you, and make a date for it. Basically we all know what we need to do, we just need to do it.”
