Romelu Lukaku slams FIFA 21 player ratings as ‘s***’ publicity stunt

Romelu Lukaku appears to be unhappy with his FIFA 21 player rating – and has hit out at the game’s publicity stunt.
EA Sports finally unveiled the highly-anticipated ratings on Thursday, with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi taking top sport.
But while some players will undoubtedly be delighted with their rating in the popular game, others were left slightly baffled.
Among them include Inter Milan striker Lukaku, who enjoyed a stunning debut season in Italy by notching 34 goals last term.
The former Manchester United forward appears to be disappointed that FIFA 21 have only given him an overall rating of 85, leaving him 77th in the rankings.
And the Belgian star made his feelings known on Twitter, slamming the decision as a “s***” publicity stunt.
He said: “Let’s be honest FIFA just mess with the ratings so we players start complaining about the game and give them more publicity.
“I ain’t with this s***. I know what I do.”
Perhaps surprisingly, the likes of Jamie Vardy and Jordan Henderson were both ranked higher than Lukaku, as was Paulo Dybala, who endured a tricky campaign for Juventus.
The usual suspects feature at the top of the list, with Barcelona forward Lionel Messi rated as the best player on FIFA 21.
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar complete the top five.
But there are some major upgrades for some players in the top 100 this year, with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Liverpool forward Sadio Mane all getting upgraded base cards in FUT 21, after outstanding individual campaigns in 2019.
EA have confirmed that FIFA 21 has an official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020.
