Lady Gaga meditates ahead of MTV VMAs as fans count down until her performance

Lady Gaga decided to calm her nerves of steel with a spot of meditation as she gears up to deliver a showstopping performance at tonight’s MTV VMAs.
The Grammy Award-winning singer, 34, took to Instagram to share a pre-performance snap with fans on Saturday night.
Gaga can be spied leaning on a palm tree with her eyes closed as she lifted one leg in the air whilst maintaining balance.
Alongside the snap, which showcased her stunning pink locks, Gaga wrote to her 43.2 million followers: “Can it be tomorrow so I can perform for my fans #vmas Condragulations to my friend @arianagrande for 200 million followers!
“You’re a queen! Wear that crown!”
The princess of pop leads this year’s award ceremony with a whopping nine nominations.
She, along with pal Ariana Grande, are both set to pick up a number of impressive gongs tonight – all virtually, of course.
The pair are also set to perform their hit new song Rain On Me live for the first time.
The Video Music Awards will see some of the biggest names in the international music industry battle it out to take home prizes for their contributions to music in the past year.
Gaga is set to put on a epic show during the hotly anticipated ceremony, and it will mark her return to the iconic stage after a seven year hiatus.
Pokerface hitmaker Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Angelina Germanotta, last strutted her stuff at the VMA’s in 2013.
She wowed audiences worldwide when she opened the show with a colorful performance of her song Applause, from her award-winning ARTPOP album.
Gaga is up for video of the year, song of the year, best collaboration and artist of the year – to name just a few.
She now joins a long list of performers who are scheduled to hit the stage during one of music’s most iconic nights.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the annual awards ceremony will not be held indoors at New York’s Barclays Center as previously planned.
It will, instead, feature live outdoor performances throughout the city with limited or no audiences.
The VMA Awards introduced two, new (hopefully temporary) categories this year – Best Music Video From Home and Best Quarantine Performance.
Best Alternative has also been reinstated after more than 20 years.
