Kansa was frightened after hearing Akashvani, she decided to kill Devaki, but Vasudev explained to her that there is no fault of Devaki in this, there is fear of Devaki’s eighth child. Therefore, they will hand over their eighth child to Kamsa.
Devaki and Vasudev were put in prison.
Kansa understood Vasudev’s point in prison and but he imprisoned Devaki and Vasudev in prison. But then Narad ji came there and asked Kansa, which will be the eighth womb, how will it be known. On this, Kans murdered all the children arising from Devaki’s womb one by one.
Lord Krishna born on Ashtami Tithi
Time passed and Sri Krishna was born on the Ashtami of Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha in Rohini Nakshatra. After the birth of Shri Krishna, there was a bright light in the prison and all the doors opened, the soldiers slept. When the light slowed down, Lord Vishnu appeared before Vasudev and Devaki and said that he would take the eighth avatar in the form of Krishna. He asked Vasudev ji that he should immediately take him to Nand Baba in Gokul and bring the girl just born to him and hand it over to Kamsa. Vasudev handed over to Krishna and gave the girl to Kamsa. As soon as Kansa raised his hand to kill the girl, then the girl disappeared into the sky and it was predicted that the one whom Kans wants to kill has reached Gokul. Kansa gets angry on hearing this. In childhood, God created many leelas and one day when the occasion came to Mathura, Lord Krishna killed Kansa.
