Smriti Mandhana’s Father Discharged, Mystery Around Wedding Triggers Rumours: Report

After her father’s sudden health scare, the family remains tight-lipped on when the wedding with Palash Muchhal will be rescheduled — fuelling widespread speculation.

Heralded Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana is once again in the spotlight — but this time due to uncertainty surrounding her wedding. The reason: health drama in the family and a conspicuous silence from both sides. 

Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, was rushed to a hospital in Sangli after experiencing chest pain. The big-day, originally slated for November 23, was immediately postponed as the family prioritized his recovery.

Doctors performed an angiography on Srinivas and confirmed there were no blockages. Following treatment, he has now been discharged, and is reported to be stable.

Despite the relief over his health, no revised wedding date has been announced. The families — both Mandhana’s and Muchhal’s — are maintaining a dignified silence, leaving fans and media speculating.

Meanwhile, in a sign that things are not back on track, Smriti has deleted all her wedding-related social media posts, including photos and videos from pre-wedding celebrations. Some of her friends — including teammates — have also removed their corresponding posts.

While her fiancé, singer-composer Palash Muchhal, reportedly faced stress over the abrupt postponement, there’s no confirmed update on any new date for the ceremony.

For now, the wedding remains on hold — and the ongoing mystery only adds to the buzz on social media.
