Shameful – After the death of a corona patient, the corporators took the body in JCB
After the death of a 72-year-old coronovirus patient in Andhra Pradesh, the JCB machine was used by the municipal staff to take his body from the crematorium. Two officers of two corporations have been suspended after the matter came to light.
It is being told that during the Door to Door Health Survey of Covid-19, a former Municipal Corporation employee found Corona test positive. He then died at his home in Palasa town in Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh.
A video has surfaced after the death of the person, in which it is seen that the corporation employees are wearing PPE kits and carrying the bodies in the JCB machine and taking them to the crematorium. The body was placed in the front of the JCB machine. Neighbors raised concern after Corona died at home, when his granddaughter and a government NGO called municipal officials to take the body to the crematorium for the last rites.
On getting information about the incident, the Chief Minister’s office has described it as ‘an inhumane act’ and said that the protocol required to carry the victim was not followed.
