Madhya Pradesh – SDM-CSP removed after requesting to end protest by kneeling in front of former congress minister
Indore. The plea of three Congress MLAs, including former Madhya Pradesh minister Jeetu Patwari, to kneel on the ground and finish the sit-in with them, has cost the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and the City Superintendent of Police (CSP) dearly and has been transferred.
This picket was being done against the policies of the BJP government of the state to deal with the outbreak of Kovid-19. Officials said on Sunday that SDM Rakesh Sharma and CSP DK Tiwari were removed from field posting and transferred to Bhopal with immediate effect in orders issued by different departments of the state government late on Saturday.
He said that Sharma has been posted as Deputy Collector in General Administration Department, while Tiwari has been posted as Deputy Superintendent (DSP) at Police Headquarters. According to eyewitnesses, SDM and CSP reached the dharna at Rajbada yesterday. There, he kneeled down and talked to Patwari and two other Congress MLAs.
Both the officials had requested the three MLAs in this posture to end the picket. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, several BJP leaders objected to the conduct of the two officials. During the dharna, the Congress leaders alleged that the state government has failed to deal with the outbreak of Kovid-19 and the public has been left on its condition.
