NEW DELHI: Patanjali promoter Yogguru Ramdev has expressed hope that the turnover of the company will increase from 35 thousand to 40 thousand crores in the next financial year. In the next 5 years, it will be from 50 thousand crores to 1 lakh crores and Patanjali will become the largest company in the FMCG sector leaving behind Hindustan Unilever.
Patanjali buys Ruchi Soya for Rs 4350 crore
According to Ramdev, Patanjali’s turnover is expected to be Rs 25,000 crore in the current financial year. Patanjali Group’s already running companies can contribute Rs 12 thousand crore and Ruchi Soya Rs 13,000 crore. Patanjali has bought Ruchi Soya for Rs 4,350 crore as part of the insolvency process.
Adani Group was also in the race to buy Ruchi Soya Patanjali expects a three-fold growth in the acquisition of Ruchi Soya. With this acquisition, Patanjali also became a major player in the edible oil category. It has also become a leader in domestic production of soybeans, sunflowers and palm oil. Adani Group was also in the race to buy Ruchi Soya. On the other hand, the revenue of Hindustan Unilever (HUL) was Rs 38,224 crore in the last financial year.
Impact of sluggishness in FMCG sector only on companies selling luxury products: Ramdev Ramdev said Ruchi Soya plans to launch three new products – Oil Nutrella Gold, Nutrella Honey and Nutrella Protein Flour under the Nutrella brand. These products will be brought to the attention of people struggling with health issues, heart diseases and high BP. Regarding the slowdown in the FMCG sector, Ramdev said that it was a temporary phase.
