Convicted of Nirbhaya, Vinay tried to kill himself by hanging in the jail toilet, the security guards saved
Despite strict security and surveillance of CCTV cameras, Nirbhaya convict Vinay Sharma tried to lay down his life in Tihar Jail. Jail sources and Vinay’s lawyer AP Singh claimed that the incident took place on Wednesday morning. The security personnel saved him in time. However, Director General of Prisons Sandeep Goyal has denied any such incident.
According to sources, Vinay was kept under observation of doctors for 24 hours in the medical inspection room of the jail. On the other hand, jail sources say that after this incident, on Thursday, Vinay and Mukesh, Akshay and Pawan, who were lodged in Jail No. 2, were shifted to High Security Cell near the hanging house in Jail No. 3. The order was dated 9 January, but was not yet in force. According to sources, the culprits are trying to get themselves registered for postponing the execution. This incident is also being seen from that point of view.
The trap was only at a height of 5-6 feet, so left
Vinay was locked in the single room of jail number four. There is just a curtain between his closet and the toilet. A small piece of iron is fitted in the toilet. Between 9 and 10 o’clock on Wednesday morning, he made a noose with cloths and skins and stuck it in the neck and tried to hang it by the neck. Due to the noose being at a height of 5-6 feet, he could not hang. During this time, a prisoner gave information to the security personnel.
