Amazon India launched the ‘Local Shops on Amazon’ program for local shopkeepers and retailers on Sunday. Reliance-Facebook deal
Recently, Facebook has announced a big investment in Reliance. Under this deal between Facebook and Reliance, a commercial agreement has also been signed between WhatsApp and Reliance Jio. This is actually for the online venture JioMart. According to the report, JioMart is now being launched on a trial basis. This will be the e-commerce venture of Reliance Retail and initially it is being launched in Mumbai. JioMart is a WhatsApp based online portal, so Reliance will also benefit from WhatsApp’s user base.

Small shopkeepers will bring e-Lala
It is worth noting that just a few days ago, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), an association of retail shopkeepers, announced the launch of its portal ‘e-Lala’. About 7 crore shopkeepers and 40,000 trade associations are associated with this organization. The organization says that this project is being started to enable customers to deliver goods from the store near them to the house between lockdowns.
Amazon says its program empowers local shops and retailers so that they can leverage the large customer base using existing resources and assets. For this, the company has prepared a special ‘delivery app’.
The company has been through this program for the last six months with more than 5000 local shops and online retailers like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Surat, Indore, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Faridabad, Kota and Varanasi etc. Was running a pilot project in cities.
There is online delivery of groceries and other goods from portals already owned by foreign companies like Amazon, Flipkart in the country.
