COVID-19 tests are in high demand as cases increase, but some people are still waiting long in medical centers to have them administered. Luckily now there is a coronavirus test that you can do at home and that is available on Amazon.
The home saliva collection kit, called DxTerity Covid-19, received an authorization for emergency use last month from the FDA, and So far it appears to be the only home coronavirus test for sale on Amazon.
The kit is currently available in a single package that costs $ 110 and in a 10-test package for $ 1,000.
DxTerity says its kit is the first home saliva test to receive this clearance from the FDA for symptomatic and asymptomatic testing.
The DxTerity kit includes an empty saliva tube, which will be shipped to a Los Angeles-based lab with prepaid shipping for testing. Response time for results is 24 to 72 hours after sample is received, as reported on CNN.
It should be noted that COVID-19 testing is available at many sites for free, but some people may be willing to pay a fee for the convenience of getting tested at home.
DxTerity also said that its saliva test kits are used by more than 130 companies in the US., including Fortune 500 companies and pharmaceutical organizations.
