Canada: gunman rains bullets in lockdown, killing 16
Toronto In Canada’s Nova Scotia province, a gunman broke into a people’s house and opened fire and burnt houses, disguised as a police officer. 16 people died in this horrific attack. This attack on Sunday is being described as the deadliest attack in the history of Canada. According to officials, the suspected attacker has also been killed.
Local officials said that a police officer was also among the dead. Police said that several bodies were found inside and outside a house in a small and rural town of Portapik. Bodies were also found at other places. Officials are assuming that attacker first targeted his targets, but later he started firing indiscriminately.
At night, the police started advising the residents of the town to keep the house closed and stay in the ground floor. Many houses in the area were also set on fire. Police have identified the gunman as 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman, who also occasionally lived in Portapic. Officials said he was wearing a police uniform and his car looked like a cruiser from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Police had earlier announced that they had arrested Wortman from the gas station in the Enfield area but later told him that he was killed. “It is the most brutal act of violence in the history of our province,” said Stephen MacNeil, head of Nova Scostia. RCMP spokesman Daniel Bryan confirmed the death of 16 people besides the suspect.
