Kamal Nath Government in crisis: News of Scindia meeting Modi with Shah, may visit BJP headquarters in a while
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing political upheaval in Madhya Pradesh, there is news of Jyotiraditya Scindia meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. According to media reports, Scindia accompanied Home Minister Amit Shah to meet Modi. There are also reports of Scindia going to BJP headquarters in a while. Scindia is in Delhi only. Today is the 75th birth anniversary of Madhavrao Scindia. It is believed that Jyotiraditya can make a big announcement on this occasion.
BJP has these options:
- Scindia declare that he is not with the Congress. On Tuesday, there is a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for the Rajya Sabha elections, in which Scindia should decide the ticket.
- The BJP called a meeting of the House and brought a no confidence motion against the first Speaker. However, its process is very long, which will be difficult for the BJP. Kamal Nath should also bring a motion of confidence. BJP should drop it in voting, which will lead to the fall of the government.
Congress may have this strategy
- Congress to issue whip for legislative party meeting. Stop the violator from coming to the House. The role of the speaker will be important in this.
- Congress can wait till Rajya Sabha elections. Although it has 16 days left, the government’s decision may be taken at the beginning of the budget session. Discussions were also held in the meeting of big leaders, make Scindia a Rajya Sabha ticket and Tulsiram Silavat as state president.
MLAs have stayed in three different places
Pro-Scindia MLAs have been stationed at three different places along the resort Palm Meadows, 40 km from Bengaluru. This place falls in the constituency of BJP MLA Arvind Limbowli from Karnataka. All commands are under supervision. These MLAs are being handled by BY Raghavendra and Vijayan, sons and MPs of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. He is also accompanied by senior BJP leader Arvind Bhadoria. Some of the MLAs who went to Karnataka went to see Tirupati Balaji. Vijayan runs the reality firm Adarsh Developer.
Expert view: Majority can be decided in the assembly itself
According to constitutional expert Subhash Kashyap, which party has the majority, it can be decided in the House of Assembly. If the government loses in the House on a motion of no confidence or no confidence motion, money bill or any policy matter, it will have to resign. The speaker may terminate his membership if he complains of a member who has violated the party whip or who voluntarily left the party. In such a situation, the person who votes before being disqualified will be valid. The defections act will not apply if two-thirds of the members leave the party together and their legislature will remain.
