Wayne Lineker's £12k op at private hospital after injuring shoulder on night out
Wayne Lineker has checked into a private hospital in London for a £12,000 operation after injuring his shoulder on a boozy night out in Ibiza.
The Celebs Go Dating star, 58, who owns a club empire in Europe, returned to the UK last year after the coronavirus outbreak closed night spots across the continent.
He has now undergone shoulder replacement surgery at the private King Edward VII’s Hospital London to fix an injury that had been plaguing him since August 2019.
The hospital lists shoulder replacement operations as starting from £12,360.
Wayne, who is the brother of football pundit Gary Lineker, shared a picture of himself lying in his hospital bed as well as an X-ray showing the pins that have been put into his shoulder.
He revealed the injury happened on a big night out in Ibiza in August 2019, and he has no memory of how he hurt himself.
Writing on Instagram, Wayne explained: “So I had an operation today ffs lol.
“I have had a full shoulder replacement… Thanks to one of the leading shoulder specialists in the UK, Dr Wallace, I will be up and running in no time.
“This is the 2nd operation I have had, the first was to replace my bicep sockets that came away and attempt to stitch up the long tear in my rotator cuff. 6 weeks rehab now before I can hit the gym again…”
Wayne went on to reveal he’d left the doctors baffled with his story of waking up hungover with a major shoulder injury.
He added: “After my original first consultation Dr Wallace asked me how on earth did I do this huge trauma to my shoulder.
“I said, ‘I have no idea️ I woke up hungover in Ibiza one day after a big day and night at Ocean and Hi for glitterbox (August 2019) and couldn’t lift my arm up’.
“He went on ‘but Wayne I’m sorry, but surely you remember what happened? Did you have a car accident or fall off a cliff or get run over by bus?’
